We were a party of about 20 people having dinner in the private room upstairs. My Crab Flan and Asparagus Risotto were... remarkably bland and somewhat fishy tasting and the Apple tart just OK. The portion sizes were small and service was slow: aboutan hour between each course. Considering $90 per person including tip, not including alcohol, I was completely underwhelmed. Read more

If you are looking to host an amazing small dinner party, Bistro Provence is the place to go. In October, I hosted a birthday... celebration dinner for my husband that received rave comments from all 17 celebrants. The setting was beautiful and the foodwas out of this world. Moreover, the service was superb as all the wait staff were helpful and welcoming to every one of ourguests. Susana Cam was a dream to work with in everything from the menu, to setting up the garden courtyard, to providing awarm welcome to all. A memorable dining experience in every way. Read more

Do not waste your time. The food and service left a lot to be desired. We had MADE RESERVATIONS in advance but were rushed... through our entire meal. We were reminded repeatedly that the chef was expecting a large party and that our meal could take along time to prepare because of this party. I understood. No worries. I've got a $200.00 bottle of wine to enjoy. Once ourorder was received, the steaks were not prepared properly. Besides my rare being well done, the quality of their steaks wererather unsatisfactory. During our meal, the staff started really putting on the pressure for us to leave, filling up our glassesbefore we had even taken a drink. Over and over again! Not how I like to enjoy a bottle of wine. If you're looking for a greatdining experience with quality food, look elsewhere. There are so many other wonderful options that meet the standards of theBethesda community. When I asked for dessert, the owner stated that they were too busy and that I'd have to wait for over anhour if I wanted anything. This would have been nice to know when I made my reservations. Dessert is not an option! Once Iexplained to the staff and owner that I would not be leaving a tip, the waiter became very concerned and stated that he wouldnot have the funds to give the owner and he'd have to pay from his own pocket if I didn't tip. I have had some terribleexperiences and terrible food, but this takes the cake. Read more

Horrible service and decent food. Main course took 1.5 hours (not exaggerating) to receive the wrong dish. Also, had we not... ordered bread, we would have sat for 50 minutes to wait for our appetizer. - $8 for 5 pieces of store bought bread and butter(this quality of bread is usually free at French restaurants). We got a second basket (thinking it was free, and it was again 5pieces of bread and no fresh butter.) - Large shrimp shell in risotto (server didn't care and shrugged it off) - Received wrongduck dish, server blamed me for ordering the wrong one and did not even apologize. I would have never ordered that duck due toheavy dislike for eggplant and olives. I speak/read french and would not have made this mistake. The server didn't care to takeanything off our bill despite all of these issues. We are never coming back here, and telling everyone to avoid it. Read more

We came in for my sister's birthday and sat in the back patio. The environment is really romantic and nice. The food was really... phenomenal. My reason for the okay rating was because the service was very slow. We came in at about 8:00 and left almost at11:00. There was only one waiter attending to the whole area so even throughout the slow process if you wanted more bread ormore drinks you had to wait a long time for it. If this place had more waiters on the service was faster it could easily be fivestars because again the food was phenomenal. Read more
