Great Downhome Southern cooked Food. Great Service. It isn't a fancy place by any means --it is a 'working person' location for... mouth watering food & desserts...cafeteria style. Ted's is a family run neighborhood restaurant. The food is affordable, fresh, and substantial. If you go for their week end... brunch, you'll be good until supper. The menu features all the usual breakfast fare but the breakfast sandwich with choice ofmeat and the quesadilla are my favorites. Also good are the breakfast bowls, real waffles and real pancakes. Never tried theChicken and waffle but it looks amazing, probably enough for two. If you're feeling adventurous try the greek burger orsouvlaki sandwich. All orders come with fresh fruit and grilled red potatoes. As you might imagine, Ted's is busy but ownerTasos always has time to come by for a visit. We happened upon this Gem because we were waiting for a client to meet us for a car delivery. It is a place that Hallmark movies... are made of. The Owner was Super friendly and had a memorable spark that lit up the entire restaurant. Although we had never methim before, his energy towards us was as if we had been friends for years. We saw "Ted" the original owner and his beautifulwife as well. The food was good the dessert was Delicioso!! The restaurant was Quaint with family photos displayed proudlybehind the register. Fantastic breakfast and brunch, and Ted himself kept us entertained. If we lived closer than 2+ hours away, we would be... regulars. The hot chicken and waffles are to-die-for, and I definitely recommend the grits bowl! Put at least a couple of mealshere on your Birmingham itinerary, seriously. Read more
