Really good sushi with fresh ingredients. The premium omakase comes with real wasabi (from wasabi root). The standard sushis are... served with the standard wasabi imitation. 1 star less cause service was not satisfying. We came with a small toddler, noteven bother to bring a high chair. Asked for soda refill but we got the bill served. Read more

Mr. Lee, Thank you for your response to my review. I have noticed that you do respond to most of your reviews so I had a... feeling that you will reply to this one, and quickly. I did say in my review that the sushi rice is good, and I assume as longas the fish is fresh the sushi should be great. A large part of good sushi is the rice. But paying attention to higher pricetag sushi items and ignoring the complimenting side maki pieces in the bento box is not fitting to your philosophy mentioned inyour response. I saw that you avoided talking about the kitchen items, it is not about cooking style and authenticity. Dry isdry, no one wants dry meat. My family owed many restaurants in the past 50 years so I know how different restaurants runbusiness so I won?t elaborate here. I also lived in Japan on and off for many years so I know sushi quite well. But I do thankyou for your sincere invitation, unfortunately I wont be revisiting since I do no live in the area. If you look at my profile, overall I think I am a pretty fair critic. So if you do really care about your customers and true food critic feedbacks pleasepay more attention to the small details. Original Review: Stopped by for a quick lunch since our go to Thai places were allfull. This is a typical Chinese or Korean own/operated joint, I cannot say much about the sushi since we didn?t order sushiexcept for the 2 piece of imitation crab meat maki in our bento boxes. The sushi rice is good but the cutting technic washorrible, all of the maki pieces were stuck together and when you pull them apart, naturally the nori comes off and the makifell apart. This also means the maki was probably sitting in the cooler for a while otherwise the nori won?t be so wet andsticky. If any maki is served this way in Japan the restaurant will be closed in a week. So my review is about the kitchenitems. One word, dry. Everything is dry, the pork, the chicken and the beef. Everything was pre-prepared, dou Read more

Very glad I found this place and stopped in. Easily best sushi joint in Detroit area in my books. Servers are friendly and... welcoming and the sushi is amazingly tasty and fresh. Wouldn?t hesitate to go back or recommend to like minded pals! Read more

Went for lunch with some friends mostly because no other sushi restaurants were open nearby. I am very glad that we came because... it was hands down the best sushi I've ever had. Meal was a bit expensive, but it was well worth the money. Read more

I?ve been here twice now. Once for the lunch special and once for an early dinner on a Sunday. The food is excellent. The nigiri... was fresh, had unique preparation and was served beautifully. The rolls were interesting and they have so many options thatyou?re bound to find something perfect for you. My issue with this restaurant is in the service and atmosphere. The first timewe went for an early dinner on a Sunday, we had our two young, but very well behaved, children in tow. Our 4 year old?s favoritefood is nigiri, so we were excited to try a new place. When we walked in we were the only people in the restaurant and we weretold we couldn?t sit in a booth even though there were 4 of us. We pushed and ended up sitting in a booth. We were given 1 menufor all of us and only 2 sets of chopsticks and napkins and they wouldn?t give my daughter a glass of water, so she drank out ofmine. The server was unwelcoming and pretty much rude the whole time. While we were there, three other families with babies andyoung children showed up, so this strange service wasn?t because it?s not a place for kids. Fast forward to when I went with myfather 2 weeks ago for lunch and once again, we were the only patrons in the restaurant and told where we had to sit, given onemenu and the server still was clearly not happy we were there and rushed us through the whole time, taking plates before we weredone. It was also very cold both times and we all had to keep our coats on. The food was very good and I would absolutely ordertakeout, but the dining in experience was just not good either time. especially when there are other sushi restaurants nearbythat are welcoming to families and treat you like a customer should be treated, it?s just not worth it.
