The water had an odd taste in this area, not just at the restaurant so it must be just how it tastes here. The waiter was... excellent and quick to come back to check on us even though the restaurant was very busy. He returned several times to refillour coffee cups. I had the Hoosier Scramble, which was scrambled eggs on english muffin topped with sausage gravy. Others hadEggs Benedict, a Corned beef Hash breakfast with hash browns and real shredded corned beef, and a breakfast plate with eggs,potato, ham & 1 very large pancake. The food was good. We love the Village Deli and today did not disappoint. Tried the breakfast tacos and they were soooo good. Scrambled eggs,... potato bites with a spicy guacamole in a soft flour shell & a side of suit! YUM. Also, had the corned beef hash with 2 friedeggs and a side of toast. We visited Bloomington a few days ago and decided to come here for breakfast. They weren?t busy so we got seated outside... immediately (this was Monday the 25th at around 8:45 AM). Our server was super friendly and gave us a lot of recommendations. Igot the bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon and a side of home fries. And it was just fantastic all around. The bagel was supercrispy and toasty, the egg was cooked to perfection (the bacon was actually cooked into the egg! What a clever idea!). And thehome fries were crispy and delicious. Overall, if you?re in Bloomington for breakfast/brunch, Village Deli is the perfect placefor this! I will definitely come back here if I get the chance to be back in Bloomington. Read more
They're known for their pancakes and I'll say that was my favorite part of my meal. I had the Power Breakfast and my scrabbled... eggs were pretty plain, almost too thin. The potato fries were also fine but nothing memorable. My wife ordered the bagelsandwich which also was fine. Overall nothing memorable. I did like the outdoor seating and our server was great. I had a wonderful and scrumptious breakfast here on a Saturday morning in September. I highly recommend the pumpkin pancakes and... fresh squeezed orange juice.
