3 different meals, 2 appetizers and a few drinks later. All 3 of us warm and happy. Rib steak delish, finger steaks so tender... and tasty, ribs to flounder for. I ordered Lindy's finger steaks for take-out before 6 PM on Saturday night. After I paid for my order, the waitress told me that... it would take about 25 minutes to have my order ready. So I went out for a walk and came back after 25 minutes. The waitresstold me that the cook was still working on the food. After waiting for another 25 minutes, I asked the waitress when I can getmy food. The waitress said that the restaurant has a new cook and there are a lot of orders, which caused the long wait. Sheapologized and told me that the restaurant would provide free dessert as compensation. After waiting for another 7 minutes, Ifinally got my order and stormed out of the restaurant. Why was I so angry? Because I saw a couple who ordered their food afterme almost finished their plates. After I got back in my car, I checked the food. Guess what? I ordered onion rings but gotFrench fries. And no dessert at all. After waiting for 57 minutes while being hungry, my Saturday mood was completely ruined bysuch a bad experience at Lindy. One star is the best score I can give to this restaurant, and I will never go back to Lindy. Read more
Visiting this area for work and walked here from my hotel. This was the worst meal I've had in a year! This is called a "steak... house" so, I ordered the NY steak medium rare with a baked potato and vegetables. Every bit of this meal was awful! The steakwas so tough and full of hard fat. I could hardly cut it with a steak knife! Worst $40 I've spent in a long time. I would havebeen better off having a pizza delivered to my hotel room or having a bowl of cereal. Would have been 5 stars if I had been punched in the face as soon as I walked in. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and sticky,... which is exactly what I was looking for. The patrons had a what I can only assume had to be a PTSD fueled sense of humor. Theemployees demonstrated a cohesive sense of teamwork while four of them argued the mathematical accuracy of our change.Collaborative work is so under appreciated. I do have an academic appreciation for seeing a woman ferociously chew her tonguewhile trying to make a mental list of the order we had already placed over the phone, and seeing her chug another patron?sbeverage without being asked was demonstrating her willingness to go above and beyond.
