the best meal I have had in Boise since moving here from Coeur d'Alene last year. I had the special, the mixed fish fry. It was... lightly coated and expertly fried. so light and airy. I have never had fried scallops before, I don't know if I can ever havethem any other way now. $2 happy hour oysters, uh yes please. chocolate stout cake-hot damn. they know what they are doing andhave an expert revenace for food. go here Read more

My husband and I had such a great experience here. The food was amazing and the interior had a wonderful ambiance. We loved our... spot overlooking the kitchen, fun to watch. The service was also fantastic. Read more

Second visit, just as good as our first. A really lovely little space, better for couples or at most groups of four. The... rotating menu means there?s always something new to enjoy. We tried the croquettes, the ratatouille, the smoked salmon crepes, the Brussels sprout Caesar, and the lentils, all of which were delicious. Consensus pick was that the crepes were the best. Theratatouille is very good but almost overwhelmingly flavorful - the two of us couldn?t finish it. Looking forward to our nextvisit. Read more

Today, I discovered that the review I previously posted re: Petite 4 on Google has been removed, as well as my photos. Although... my experience was poor, my review was a fair and legitimate review that was not in violation of any of Yelp?s contentguidelines. In the spirit of providing constructive feedback, I am re-submitting my review and photos. On March 20, 2019, Iwent to Petite 4 with two friends. We started by ordering two appetizers to share; Gougeres and Croquettes. My choice was theGougeres. I was surprised when the Gougeres was served. A gougere is a small, airy French cheese puff made of baked chouxpastry that has grated cheese mixed in. Petite 4?s version was two oversized gougeres. They were visibly burnt and had none ofthe airiness normally associated with this dish. The Chorizo and Manchego Croquettes were good, but not exemplary. It would?vebeen a better choice for the chef to stick with a classic French potato croquette versus attempt one that paid homage to theSpanish style, which only leads to comparison. Personally speaking, I prefer the Basque style of croquettas. I ordered FrenchOnion soup, which I forgot to take a picture of before I began eating. The soup was beautifully presented in a red bowl andlooked delicious, but had little to no flavor. I kept adding salt to it in an effort to coax out some flavor, to no avail.French Onion soup is one of my favorites. I?ve never been so disappointed as I was with this version. For my entrée, I orderedthe Cassoulet. It was overcooked and dried out. After taking a couple of bites, I asked for a to go box. My hope was thatrefrigerating it overnight might give the flavors a chance to meld, and that perhaps the center of the dish was salvageable.Alas, it was not to be. My friends both ordered the Moules-Frites, which they enjoyed. I didn?t try their dish, a simple mealmost can make at home. The frites looked like dried out little match sticks placed on top of the mussels, instead of the cri Read more
