I was very impressed with Laura and how she described how lovingly she makes their bloody Mary mix. Now I love a good bloody... Mary. I don?t think I?ve ever had one this good before. She started off telling me a few ingredients that she emulsifies liketomatoes, roasted red peppers, jalapeños, pickles with juice, etc. The next visit to my table, I asked her a little bit morelike are the normal things in the mix like horseradish and Worcestershire and she said yes and listed off a few moreingredients. It was without a doubt, the best bloody Mary I?ve ever had. The food was fantastic too. I started with the cheesecurds coated with Parmesan cheese and fried. Of course they were fabulous. It was hard to decide on an entrée, Laura helped andI got the salmon cake, Benedict, totally fabulous. I highly recommend this restaurant. I?m sorry I hadn?t tried it before. I hadmy dog with me and he was fine sitting on the porch with me. I will be back there for sure. Thank you so much Leslie B. Read more

Best fish n chips I might have ever had. The tarter sauce was beyond amazing and hands down the best tarter sauce I have ever... had by far. My kids loved their flat bread pizzas and my wife had the pork lion and she said it was the best pork she has evereaten. We are here from out of town and will most likely skip trying anything else and just go back here tomorrow. Read more

4.5 stars Nice restaurant and bar in Boone. We actually ended up eating there twice in one day and we enjoyed our food both... times. The staff was very nice and very attentive. With reservations we had absolutely no problems getting seated promptly andserved immediately. Drinks were tasty and quick. Food was mostly good and thus the half star deduct. With a large party wewere able to sample different foods. The pizza crusts tasted different from lunch to dinner but was a good pie overall withdelicious toppings. The Philly was pretty good and French fries were great. The salads were American size hearty and the adultgrilled cheeses and other cheese sandwiches good too. The shrimp and grits needed more shrimp and more grits with less tomatoonion combo. Nachos were a bit over cooked but the toppings were great. Overall between the ambiance and great staff we had afantastic two visits to the Local and would go again. Read more

Easy to get to if walking or by car. Stopped in two separate nights and had great service from the hostess, wait staff, and... bartenders. Their website says call for reservations but when you do they tell you they don't do over the phone but have await-list at the hostess station. There is a parking lot across the street and limited on street parking. They have a handicapramp in the front. There is an outdoor covered patio seating area. I ordered Shrimp and Grits on the first visit and a Braziliansteak on the second. The shrimp and grits came hot and was very flavorful. The steak was served with plantains, beans, freshasparagus and tasty green herbs. Neither disappointed and were cooked just the way I like. The restaurant is dog friendly aswhen we sat on the patio there were two tables that had their dogs with them. Read more

I have been looking forward to eating at this restaurant for a while. They said the wait would be long but we ended up getting... right in. I ordered shrimp tacos and my husband got the fish and chips. The food was delicious thank you to the bartender whosuggested avocado! Thank you to the restaurant for having so many gluten-free options. I can't wait to try the GF pizza! Onlyone thing, I wish they could do more take-out. Read more
