We haven't been in a while, but we just had the best meal and service. You can get in without a reservation. The food was as... amazing as I remember it. The duck fat fries were worth the trip haha. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. I highrecommend. Read more
We love coming to the Old South Mountain Inn. However, the upkeep on the place has gone downhill quite a bit in recent years. We... recently dined there and were shocked by the very musty smell as soon as you enter the restaurant. We were seated in the sunroom and the musty smell was even more prevalent. This truly impacted our evening in a very negative way. The restroom floorsand baseboards were noticeably dirty. As always, the food and service was excellent. I hope the owners put some time, money, andeffort into the upkeep of this wonderful restaurant steeped in great tradition. "Old" should not imply neglect and lack ofattention to the beautiful dining environment. Read more

The oldest restaurant in Maryland: 1732 Great food and service. We started with oysters and French onion soup which were very... good. Then we ordered duck and salmon. My wife does not eat butter and they made her order with olive oil instead. Food wastasty and Serving size was good. Our sever (Karen) was very caring and helpful. Went for Thanksgiving dinner and everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, everyone including the owners... were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome, even though it was very busy and they were working hard tokeep up. The turkey dinners, especially the sweet potatoes, were delicious. The seasonal fresh cranberry martini was also tasty.It was our first time there and we hope to be back soon. Thank you to the staff and owners for making our holiday dinner so verynice. Read more
