It was my first vegan pizza in Boston. Being from Europe, the Double Zero crust has an almost perfect flavor of an Italian... pizza. The place has a nice, a bit hipstery vibe, and while we were there the only thing odd was that they were blasting 80'shits a bit too loud for our taste, but other than that the ambience is really cozy and perfect for a quick sitdown with friendsfor some wine and pizza. We chose two different pizzas - artichoke and truffle. While artichoke was fantastic - the freshness ofthe ingredients with just right amount of sweetness and saltiness, the truffle we found to be a bit bland. It still tasted good, but definitely could be elevated. Overall - a tasty and recommendable find on otherwise pretty pricey Newbury St. Read more

Limited Vegan and Vegetarian options. The wine selection is great but the food was okay. They couldn't customize the pizzas so... we had to stick with exactly what's on the menu which was frustrating as we couldn't try multiple pizzas or add few toppings. Read more

Arguably the best gluten free crust I’ve ever had! Doughy and delicious. Had the truffle pizza. Really delicious, though be... forewarned — very salty. Read more

My girlfriend and I, both longtime vegans, dined at this vegan pizzeria on Newbury street. We relished the easy going ambience... and excellent music playing, old jazzy hits. We ordered the eggplant parmesan which was beyond fantastic and franklytastebud-tingling! We highly recommend and would order this again. We also shared the bianca pizza which was a pie more suitesfor the mature palette with pickled veg and a 'plant yolk' derived from black salt drizzled on top. Although the highlight ofthe meal was the parmesan, the pizza was well prepared and beautifully presented. Our server was also attentive and friendly. Itwas an excellent establishment we would revisit and recommend to vegans and non vegans alike. Read more

Matthew Kenney is a prolific vegan chef, known for his restaurants such as Double Zero NYC, Sestina, Bar Verde, Plant City... Providence etc. Therefore, when Google maps suggested Double Zero Boston to me, I naturally assumed it's a safe bet and that thefood and service will be on par with the other MK restaurants. Boy, was I wrong. This made my non-vegan partner want to not tryany more vegan restaurants. Not only was the service PATHETIC, the food was abysmal. Our server was genuinely not interested intaking our order (or serve us the foods judging by the temperature of our food when it arrived). Mind you, it was not a busytime for the restaurant, which if it were the case, we'd totally excuse this. We waited for over 40 minutes for cold, burntpizza with thin crumbles of hard mock meat we were to assume was their "pepperoni". Judging by the temperature of the food, itis safe to assume that the food was sitting there for over 10 minutes before our server thought it fit for her personal journeyto get it to us. We did not think it worth our time to complain, because it was plain as day no one cared how the place is run.Disappointed is not the word. I do not recommend. Please support other better rated local vegan establishments. Read more
