Website said they?d text when the order was ready. They didn?t. By the time we checked on our food it was a cold soggy mush. ... Flavorful, though, bet it might have been good at some point. Read more

I see a lot of mixed feelings for the Dining Car. Even in the street standing in front of the truck, I heard one person sing... it's praises, and another cast annoyance. Folks seem to either love it or hate it. I'm somewhere in the middle. I tried theirmore expensive specially item, thinking it would be a good indicator at what they would put the most effort into: the lambsandwich. It was advertised as being slow roasted in garlic and rosemary, but I didn't taste either of those things. In fact,I didn't taste much of any seasoning at all on the lamb. However, it was tender, juicy, and flavorful, since lamb on it's ownis tasty in the first place. The herb goat cheese and fresh mint were great addition. They gave the heavier, savory lamb acreamy and lighter component. They didn't skimp on the mint. The pomegranate vinaigrette gives it a nice tangy aftertaste, cutting though the heavier ingredients and complimenting the lighter. The bread was a nice thick ciabatta, toasted. Despitethe juicy lamb and the viniagrette, it never got soggy and it kept it's crunch. It was a good sandwich, but $11 was on thesteep side. Overall, I'd consider The Dining Car a solid middle-of-the-pack food truck in Downtown Boston. I'll definitely beback. Read more
