The restaurant has a good vibe and ambience, and the patio has a nice view of 31 Mile Lake (Lac Trente et un Milles). I would... most likely not go back for dinner as the value for the money was not there. Most appetizers were nearly $20 and most entréeswere nearly $40, and although the food was tasty it did not "wow" me and the flavours were not super refined. For example, thefish I ordered was smothered in Pesto so you couldn't really taste the fish. The other people in my group ordered the seafoodlinguine and the cream sauce was too heavy to enjoy the flavour of the shrimp and scallops (though generous in number). I would,on the other hand, entertain a visit to try their brunch or to go for a glass of wine, especially if I had property on the lakebecause they have a place where you can dock your boat. On the subject of wine: the wine cellar is very extensive. However, thewaiter did not really know much about wine so it was completely up to us to pick something. For the prices they're charging, therestaurant should have a sommelier on staff to help guide the customers. They'd probably end up selling more higher priced wineif they did! One other reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the service was incredibly slow the evening we were there.Perhaps because it was the Friday of the long weekend. Read more

Beautiful location and friendly staff. Service was very slow partially due to the wait required to go choose our wine in the... cellar - while that experience was fun I'm not sure waiting 50 mins to get our bread and first sips was worth it. The food wasgood but the prices were hefty. A few recommendations that would heighten the experience: 1. Ditch the paper napkins for realones - at the prices being charged, a paper napkin feels cheap. 2. Tell us more about the food! I'm sure a lot of theseproducts were local but you would never know by looking at the menu. Where is the pork from? Local fish? Produits du Quebec?Savvy restaurant goers want to know these things and they help justify the prices. 3. Figure out the wine cellar situation. Have a list to choose from and make the trip down to the cellar optional. Also, make sure your staff can recommend a low andhigh end option for each of your main dishes We'll go back sometime to try the brunch but I don't think we'll be visiting againfor dinner any time soon. The biggest problem with this Resto is the furniture. I just don't understand the logic of spending a million dollars to this... very nice wood interior Rustic style Villa only to be seated in cheap plastic uncomfortable Wal Mart chairs for your guests? This is where you cut corners? Why not add the country look and style with wood? The food is mediocre and service needs help. IfI'm paying $50 for a Veal Cutlet it better be good. Not the case here. We might consider going back this summer as we areplanning a fishing trip but we will definitely be looking at other options. Read more

I reserved a table at L'Huile d'Olive to celebrate my parents 38th anniversary with them, my gf and my grandmother. The... reservation was made almost a month in advance. Upon arrival we were seated at the only indoor table that is not in the maindining room. It is located under the loft and right next to the open kitchen. It was extremely loud, to the point that you hadto shout to be heard. There was one completely empty table in the main dining room and we had to ask to be moved there. Once wewere moved there it took a very long time 30+min for anyone to come and even take a drink order. We asked for a wine menu andwere told there wasn't one without further explanation. Finally we were told that someone would be taking us to the wine cellarto pick our wine next. We waited as 3 more tables were brought down before us. It took another 20 minutes after getting the winefor someone to take our order. We all ordered the seafood linguine. Every other table had bread given to them before their mealsarrived. Not only did we not recieve bread, we asked for bread 3 times, the first being before the meal was served. Breadfonally arrived halfway through our meal and they only brought 4 pieces for 5 people. We asked at that time for the 5th piece ofbread and it did not arrive until at least 15 min later. The seafood in the linguine was all overcooked and rubbery, definitelynot worth 40$/plate. We were very obviously the only anglophone table in the restaurant and we recieved horrible service startto finish. No one even came over to ask how the meal was. My father had to ask to speak to the manager and when she came and heexplained the situation she offered either free desert or to do something on the bill. We did not want dessert because we had alater starting time (745pm reservation). They did not change anything on the bill after offering to do so. We will never go backagain. Read more
