The food is OK but extremely overpriced. Portion sizes are small compared to the price that you pay. For example the jallof rice... meal (featured picture) is $25+ they give you a few pieces of goat meat but most of it is extremely fatty and very little meat(which is very dry). The particular night I went they ran out of plantain. They also automatically add an 18% gratuity even ifit’s just a party of two which added additional $20 to my meal. Then once the post-payment receipt is printed, they ask if youwant to leave more tip. Wait time for starters and meal was the same which was about 40 minutes after ordering. I’m happy tosupport businesses like this but I feel cheated and will not go back. Paid $135+ and was still hungry. Read more

Food was delicious, flavorful, and spicy and there was plenty to share. Great atmosphere…Afro beats music was pumpin. Rum... punch had a kick. Patio seating was very nice. The palm trees transported us to an exotic place with an African vibe. MJ, theManager and our waitress were super friendly and attentive. What a great night/dinner. Update: 8/13/22 visit was surprisingly better than the initial visit; maybe because we went during the weekday. Nonetheless, our... food came out hot and tasty and our server knew the menu well 3/5 stars for now. See pics of what we ordered: Pepper soup,Asún, pounded yam and Long Island Visited the restaurant for the first time on Friday July 22, 2022 with my boyfriend. Wetried booking online but that feature doesn’t work, so we called the restaurant to try and reserve a spot only to be told thatthey were all booked and to walk in. We came early on Friday at 8pm to try and reserve a spot two hours in advance and waspretty much told if we weren’t purchasing a bottle and spending a minimum of $500, we couldn’t get a table- which I thoughtwas pretty ridiculous. Apparently the Restaurant turns into a club/lounge at 9pm. We asked for our names to be put down on alist and was told they didn’t do that either and to come back. We went to our event and returned at 10pm, after waiting for 15minutes, I requested to speak with a manager. It took the manger another 30 minutes to attend to us; mind you, there were 4managers working that evening!! Thankfully she was very nice and understanding of our situation and was able to find us a tableafter we were practically told by the hostess there weren’t any tables available smh. We got seated around 10:45pm and it tookour waiter another 15-20 minutes to attend to us. We placed our drink order and appetizer orders. 45 minutes passed and ourorders did not come out- apparently our waiter never placed our order in to begin. I went to the bar to order another drinkbecause I was so frustrated and hungry. Venue is amazing, atmosphere is steller, music pretty good. Now, all down hill from here folks. Outdoor patio are... phenomenal! There were really long wait times from the kitchen and the servers were very slow. The seemed to be no consistentbussing of the food areas for finished foods. There is an automatic 18% gratuity on the food. A shot of regular Woodfordreserves was $18.00. The only perk was it was taco ???? Tuesday so they had a happy hour menu with sliders, jolaf, jerk wingsfor $10 Tuesday only. Regular price is typically $18-20 for these items and there appetizers.
