Always looking for a good Cuban sandwich. A local newspaper recommended Cafe Havana. We finally tried it and we got take away... sandwiches to have with friends at their home. The sandwiches were full of pork, ham & pickles and still warm when we sat downto eat them. I didn?t see any cheese, it may have melted into the sandwich. The restaurant has a done in area and an extensivemenu. We will be back to try something else. Read more
BIG MISTAKE! Discover Bradenton did a article on this restaurant. That's why we decided to go for lunch. I had the steak... sandwich. Overcooked, no sauce or anything on the bread, very few onions mostly what they call potato straws which what Ithought was french fries was actually potato chips but cut in straws. The sandwich was disgusting. Very dry and for $11 youwould think you'd get some kind of side dish. My friend ordered the Cuban which she also said was not very good. It was like cantuna fish only pork? The server was terrible! He never came by to check on us I had to flag him down to ask for a side ofmayonnaise for my very dry steak sandwich. When the bill came I could not believe that they charged almost $4 for a fountaindrink and a iced tea, which by the way was not even brewed tea it had a nasty fake sugar taste to it and tasted like powderedtea. And $0.75 for a side of mayonnaise. But the worst thing was that the waiter dropped the checks while we were still eating,and stood there like he wanted us to pay ASAP! I asked him what was up? He said he was waiting for payment. I asked him if Icould please finish my lunch before I go digging through my purse to pay him. What a joke! Don't waste your time! Verydisappointed! Read more
If you?re looking for fantastic authentic Cuban food, come here!! I had the black bean soup that was delicious and my father got... the roasted pork. We shared an order of the Yuca and were given Cuban bread with butter as well. Everything was bursting withflavor. Fantastic food!! Read more
