I LOVE Duchess Coffee. The owners Ruth and Jeremy take great care to source ethically raised coffee from woman stewarded farms.... We buy their beans, and often drop by for a coffee and chat. We are happy to support this BIPOC/woman owned oasis in SouthernVermont. I always have a fabulous time in this safe third space. During modern times the value of a good local business has become immeasurable. To succeed doesn\'t just require agreat service or product. It requires recognition and word of mouth. I\'m in love with this little shop. The combination of excellent specialty third wave coffee and small little book shop is... perfect. A few spots inside to sit as well as seating outside.\n\nThe staff are super intentional on where they source theircoffee partnering with women coffee farmers from South and Central America. The quality of coffee is superb and they\'re bookselections are also incredible and educational. Purchased a maple latte and it was perfect! Lightly sweet, which is what I was hoping for. ????? There was a short wait as there... was only one barista. Upon observing her, it was clear how much love she put into carefully crafting each cup. ??\n\nAs othershave said, the establishment is small. It would feel more comfortable if some space were cleared in the center of theroom.\n\nWhile the space could be reorganized in a way that felt more functional, it seems unfair to remove a star for thisreason.
