First time here...will be our last. Wait staff is excellent, however, food is terrible. The salsa is very watery. I had street... tacos with carne asada. The meat had ZERO flavor and it had only 1 tortilla. Corn tortillas are flimsy and need 2 tortillasbecause they will fall apart. Husband had shredded chicken burrito. It was worse than my food. We read the reviews and decided to choose Chapala Mexican Grill IN SPITE of the reviews. Our order was as follows: Drinks:... Sweet Teas Appetizer: White Queso w/ Ground Beef Entrees: Chile Rellano and Ranchero Jalisco. The sweet teas were spot on. Justthe right sweetness and no "old tea taste" like you get elsewhere. The White Queso w/ Ground Beef was so good you could use tobribe a judge. I mean it was DE-LI-COUS! If we ran of chips, I would have used my napkin to eat that stuff. The Chile Rellanowasn't fried, but grilled and it was cooked to perfection with chicken and cheese (nice, stringy cheese) with rice and beans.The portion was huge and my wife couldn't finish it. The beans were delicious and the rice was the recipient of all of the extracheese and beans from the plate, making it even more scrumptious! Now for the Ranchero Jalisco....y'all...this was the bestdish I've eaten from a Mexican restaurant in a LOOOOOOONG time! The chicken was juciy and had great grilled flavor. The steakwas tender and very nicely seasoned and the shrimp were HUGE and cooked to perfection. I'm talking about that little *pop* whenyou bite into them and then they just chew like butter afterwards. All of that was served mingled with grilled onions andpeppers on top of rice and smothered in that delicious white queso. It was like my appetizer said, "I aint don't with you boy"and gave me a delicious surprise visit. It was FANTASTIC to the last bite! Don't plan on EVER going back. Food had hair, wasn't seasoned, drinks were warm, no refills, and menu wasn't accurate. Better... off going literally anywhere else. Probably why we were the only people in there. Read more
This USED to be my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the jasper area! But due to the new policy of a extra bowl of salsa... costing $2.25 and a extra bowl of chips being a extra $2.50 I will not be returning back! I spend 18$ on a margarita and 15$ fora meal but can't get extra salsa? It's absolutely bogus!!!! Read more

I have always loved Mexican food and have had the same dish at this restaurant several times before. The service was subpar( all... 3 of our glasses were empty before we got a refill. The food was scorched and my wife got sick later. I am a huge fan of Mexicanfood (I could eat it everyday) but I don?t think I will shadow this doorstep again. Chips were fresh and salsa was great butthat was the end of the good!!! I would rather dive in to Jasper than eat here again ? I don?t know what changed. I loved thisplace before last night. Read more
