My wife and I visit Boston twice a year for our son’s medical treatment and noticed this place on our last visit. We always... stay around the corner from here so we were excited to try it out. I will say the staff was pretty friendly and the ambiance wasnice inside. I could definitely see us hitting the bar for a few drinks if we lived here permanently. The Cons for me would bethe food and the speed of the staff. We ordered chicken and waffles which is one of our favorites anywhere but this time it wasreally lacking. The chicken tasted like plain breaded chicken with absolutely no seasoning. The waffle was also pretty thin andsoggy from the heat of the chicken on top of it. Normally the chicken is packed with flavor, especially since it’s fried, andthe waffle is normally a nice thick fluffy homemade waffle. The other issue was the amount of time it took to be seated. It wasdefinitely longer than average anywhere else and I also noticed this with asking for the check and waiting for them to come backand get the check. I eventually brought the check up to the bar because I got tired of waiting for someone to come back and pickit up. Overall I would definitely return and try it out again but the food definitely needs some more flavor if I’m spending$115 here’s. Otherwise, I’ll be visiting just for some drinks. Read more

We have two young kids, and met at Garrison House with some friends... who also have two young kids. This was one of the best... dining experiences we've had with the kids. Now, we did go early (5 pm), but the staff was very attentive, kind, and made usfeel welcome, which is more than we usually get with the kiddos, haha. They also did a great job dealing with our youngestdaughters multiple allergies. Can't say enough about the service. As for the food, it was quite good. The menu is a littlelimited, and items are pricey (where are they not, at this point?), but the burgers were great, my "power bowl" was tasty, andthe drinks were all awesome. Had a bourbon and peach cocktail that hit the spot, and the beer list was extensive. All in all,we were very impressed. We used to live in Brookline, but hadn't been back since the pandemic. We'll be sure to stop in againfor a bite the next time we're in town. Read more

It’s fine. The food is tasty, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean. But the portions and prices are ridiculous. $18... for a small plate of chips with cheese sauce (“nachos”). No protein included for that price and probably 20 chips. The fourof us finished in about 3 minutes. Almost comically small for the price. The fried chicken sandwich is alright, but also for$18, I’d expect a little more than chicken, 1 leaf of bib lettuce and a squirt of garlic aoili on a hamburger bun. Quiteboring final product for $18. Also a $4 up charge for a tiny portion of truffle fries. Beer list is interesting but also $1-2more expensive than other bars. Overall this is a place you can skip. Nothing special with inflated prices. Read more

This plate of shaved Brussels sprouts is $16. Enough said. Additionally, we had to send our nachos back because there was a... piece of plastic in them. I am rarely at a loss for words, but tonight I am. Steer clear of this place. Expensive and lousy. Read more
