This was the first time that went back after their move to a new location. The new place is much nicer, however a few things... changed. The menu is somewhat different with with more new things that are not really Uzbek. The prices changed as well. Wentfor lunch and the place was completely empty. Thus the disappointment of waiting for food for so long. Even in the old days atthe old place when they were super busy food came out much faster. Also while the food taste and quality seems to be the sameit's not as exceptional as it used to be. Read more

Well, we were all excited to see our lovely restaurant "Nargis" back to work (for in-person) at this new place in Sheepshead... Bay. Looks like not only the location has changed but the owner and philosophy of this restaurant. In my opinion not verypositively. First shocking experience with this new place is when you entering...this "former" Uzbek restaurant. There is zeroof the traditional design or cultural atmosphere. Interior design looks like a Manhattan loft style which has nothing to do withthe name "Nargis" or previous cuisine we all loved. Now it's a fusion place with the big menu, which is okay, but actualauthentic Uzbek food is not there anymore. Quality of the Central Asian dishes is so-so, not tasty if you know what you'relooking for. Traditional Uzbek plov is an embarrassment. The worst plov I've ever tried. The only good meal was a liver kebab.Rest of the dishes were terrible. Service issue is a whole separate thing. Waiter serving our table was ok but had no clueabout the Uzbek food, which is in their menu. Manager and someone else who were constantly checking with other tables how theyare doing didn't ask us (3 people ) even once. It was so not nice of them. Bottom line is that I wouldn't recommend this placeto anyone who is looking for the same experience to enjoy the traditional Uzbek/Central Asian food and "Nargis" quality, asbefore. Very sad. Mediocre food and service, but beautiful and clean ambiance. I had really high expectations of Nargis Cafe and was super excited... to try their pumpkin manti! Unfortunately, the food was just okay. Nothing special about it and did not satisfy my craving.Service was not great, most likely because there was one waitress working on a Saturday night and the others watching her work.I had to ask multiple times for water and my hot latte was lukewarm at best. Pros: the food was fresh, wings were great andprices are reasonable. Read more
