I brought two bats to them to be tested for rabies. They were extremely kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and gracious. They helped... us through an unpleasant process with nothing but professionalism. Read more

I have written and called regarding NYS guidelines, Erie County Guidelines, etc. and no one answers. I am a Buffalo Teacher with... covid related safety issues. One of them being - apparently we don't have to follow "guidelines", then why even use the word. The only thing we have to do is wear a mask and there are no consequences if you don't. Read more

The health department must consider our elementary school age children and mask wearing, the health risks involved wearing a... mask the entire school day and bus ride home. This carbon dioxide mixes with fresh air and elevates the carbon dioxide contentof inhaled air under the mask, and this was more pronounced in this study for younger children."The Journal of the AmericanMedical Association published a research letter suggesting high levels of carbon dioxide detected in children wearing masks. Also people with some types of cognitive, developmental, or behavioral conditions might suffer. Having class rooms aired outwould help, handwashing and disinfect, adequate fresh air breaks. Thank you for considering. Read more

- No safe shelter quarantine plan. - No concern for the health crisis of homelessness, even during pandemic. - Phone calls... sometimes unanswered. - Phone calls not returned. - Disparate answers from different staff members. - Failed to ensurecompliance with pandemic safety guidelines (mask-wearing, hand-washing, physical distancing, etc.). ECDOH has had no plan for,and no apparent intention toward, providing safe non-congregate shelter for persons experiencing homelessness -- despite anyfunding the County might have received from pandemic assistance packages -- even during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before thepandemic, ECDOH refused to recognize that Housing is a Human Right, and that Housing is Healthcare -- those refusals havecontinued. ECDOH refused to proactively shelter homeless persons, as safety measure for not only those persons themselves, butthe community at large -- even during the height of the pandemic. ECDOH refused to safely shelter persons experiencinghomelessness during their 10-day quarantine period (such as is directed when awaiting Covid-19 test results, and in cases ofexposure and/or travel). Phone lines are not always answered. Not only are calls not returned in timely fashion (despite thatsome outgoing messages do guarantee reply within a certain timeframe), calls are also not returned at all. Depending on withwhom one has spoken, one might have received completely opposing answers, to the same exact question, from two or moreemployees. Referred phone numbers for directors of organizations who had no idea why they were receiving such calls, as theirorganization did not handle such matters as were pursued. Whatever pandemic funding ECDOH may have received, it has not shown.Professionalism, and recognition of *all* persons as worthwhile individuals deserving of dignity, best efforts, and commondecency, at least somewhat, to very much, lacking. Recommend: better oversight; far greater transparency; better training --for serving *all* Read more
