There are no labels or prices on anything, so I not only had to ask how much everything cost, I couldn't actually name most of... the things I was asking about. I thought this café must be new, because how else could they be missing such a basic thing? Butit's not new at all. I'm baffled. (And if it turns out they have a full written menu somewhere in the place, the employee didnot point it out to me.) Even their drinks are not all listed. I had to ask if they still offered London fogs, because itwasn't listed on the chalkboard; and I only knew to ask because I saw it listed on a previous version of the board in one of theGoogle Maps pictures. The donut I bought was good, if perhaps a bit too sweet (and I say that as someone with a pronouncedsweet tooth). The Portuguese tart was also good, though I suspect they get them at Fortinos (and they charge over twice as muchfor them). On the upside, the atmosphere inside is very nice. It's pleasantly dark. Low-lit, but not dreary. My favourite thingis that the seating area is separated from the entry area by both a wall and a small set of stairs. It makes it feel private andsecluded. I would have stayed longer if I hadn't had other places to be. Their ice cream is also very good, and even the"kiddie scoop" is a decent size. If they start putting labels and prices on things so I don't have to ask the employee aboutevery single thing I'm even slightly interested in, I'll certainly be back. Read more
Very rude staff.. we had food with us on a cold rainy day.. they said we could sit inside.. after buying coffee another staff... member said we couldn't. Cool.. but do it in a good way.. after a yelling match we left - learn to speak to clients please, wedid well in leaving when we did or things could've escalated past simple words - not sure how you employ people like the oldergentleman with the accent and the older lady - Asian guy was nice who originally said we could sit inside - other two are betteroff scraping barnacles off boats on their own far far away from paying customers. Tamp coffee was accomodating and the coffeewas great. Heading over to their Google page now to give them 5 stars and I suggest anyone else to check them out over lakeshorecoffee house. =====Edit After Owners Response Below==== It's funny, because we read through a few other similar reviews andyou, the owners, had similar poorly written, narrow minded, childish responses - we expected one as well and you came throughwith flying colors and mounds upon mounds of ignorance. If I could give it zero I 100% would. The very first shop to appear on the search, great reviews and super close to our current... location, sure let?s do it. Coming in, asked if we could sit inside, clearly they had the patio. We were told we could eat anddrink our coffee inside. Perfect! We bought our coffees, and after purchasing an older man comes very rudely to say we had toleave and couldn?t eat or drink our coffee. Far from that, at such a prime location, during a rainy day at the rib fest, therewas two customers in all the facility. They ensured to waste coffee, lose money and lose customers. It?s like I was so ready tolet everyone know how friendly and understanding the staff were and within 5 minutes I could only wish that lakeshore coffeehouse was closed on a rainy day on Sunday. With that being said, let me refer you all to Tamp coffee company, perfectenvironment, friendly staff and let me tell you that my funnel cake went very nice with the vanilla latte. To your reply - Youpoor written response and zero engagement to the original post goes to show how little experience you have with people andcustomer service. People have left 1-2 star reviews not based on your food or coffee but your poor treatment and zerorelationship to ensure you have returning customers. My success is not influenced by you, so I don?t understand where in yourclosed mind that has anything to do with this. Unlike others I do not wish to go out of business but so that you realize thatthere?s more to this world than you coming to this beautiful country, leaving behind things you did not agree with (as did I) tocome to a welcoming country. Not the best. I had a medium drip coffee and a little pastry, nothing fancy. Came out to over 8 dollars. I can expect that with... some latte or expensive coffee but...drip coffee? They also have a "no wifi" policy here. Yes, we get it...talk to one another!But... people also come to coffee shops to do work. I figure I'd use my data instead, but I tried 3 outlets and none of themworked to even use my computer. The pastry I had was also super dry and tasted old. There are crumbs all over floor where I'msitting. Definitely won't come back here. Seems the owner fires back at bad reviews with "we're a small business etc etc".However, just because you are a small business doesn't mean you have good quality or a good spot. Hard pass. Read more
