Great Band last night, fish and chips and service were good
I’ve been here several times in the past, but never got around to my review. Now I was compelled to do so after a great... experience here last night. We chose this place because of the great food and they had live music on this night and were in themood for that. This restaurant is located in an unassuming strip plaza, but it’s very warm and cozy inside with nice boothsand comfy seating. A friendly and casual pub feel. Our server, who greeted us and let us pick our table, was amazing. She wasfriendly, efficient and patient, especially when we needed time to look over the menu and decide on drinks. I wasn’t surewhich beer I wanted, as they didn’t have one in particular I like. so she said I could try one. I tried a ‘canoe’ I think. She brought some out in little cup for me to taste. That was really great customer service. I thought it tasted great andordered a pint. For our meals, two of us ordered the smoked meatloaf and the Mac & cheese with smoked brisket to share. Themeatloaf was amazing. A generous portion of succulent meat loaf, with onion straws on top, with an amazing gravy served withmashed potatoes and vegetables. It was perhaps the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. The Mac and cheese dish was very good also.Creamy, Homemade Mac and cheese with generous portions of tasty smoked beef brisket cut into cubes. Also a very large serving,and took some home, and had it for lunch today and it was even better than I remembered. We got to try the cole slaw as my sonhad a chicken sandwich that came with cole slaw and he asked for it on the side as he doesn’t care for it. I got to try itand it was delicious as well The live music was great. The singer was a former winner of Canadian Idol and he was joined by alocal guitarist. Waitress/Bartender was great. Very friendly and energetic. Food was very good. Our table and the ones near us were a bit dirty... and sticky when we sat down, as well as the floor needed some cleaning too, but she explained they were closing for renovationsand it was just from some of the prep work.
