We drove up from Hamilton. I will admit I was a little skeptical at the 4.4 rating but let me tell you how wrong I was. The... food was great and the service from Jessica was perfect! I heard from a conversation from another server to another table thatthey were a little understaffed and ended up getting quite busy but Jess handled it so well you would never had guessed. She wasso friendly and fast with service and food and made the tasty food that much better of an experience. Can't wait to come back! Read more

Me and my friend try to visit local restaurants, today we chose Caledonia. The patio shade was nice. I tried the fish and chips... it was delicious. The batter they use tasted delicious and perfectly cooked. Kudos to the chef. The server was friendly as well. Read more

My husband and I decided to attend for a date night, as we had heard good things about this establishment. We sat on the patio... which was delightful, the food was delicious, unfortunately the service was unacceptably slow and inattentive. We always tipgenerously, but we just could not at this visit. We recommend the chef or owner reconsider their service staff. They leave anintegral impression on your guests. We were hoping to recommend The Argyle to my brother who is a chef but are somewhathesitant. We may try one more visit, perhaps it was a "one-off." One more issue, after waiting an extended period of time fortake-out containers, the server brought them with the portable interact machine sitting inside them! Read more

Update August 16, 2022: I went for a late lunch at 1:45pm. I was not in a hurry and dining alone. I expected to be greeted at my... table once I was sat down by the hostess. It was almost 10 minutes before someone came to ask if I wanted something to drink. Iordered both my drink and food at that time. The food was eventually brought. I had ordered a French onion soup, which I reallylove there, and the girl didn?t bring me a spoon to eat it with. She stated she would go get one and never returned ever! I gotup and asked the hostess if she could get me a spoon and told her that the girl never returned with it which left me sittingthere with soup getting cold and nothing with which to eat it. The waitress (another one) brought me the spoon and I said thatno one brought it for me and she said ?that?s okay? and I stated actually it?s not because I had nothing to eat with and shewalked away as I was speaking. No one came and checked on me to see how my lunch was doing. No one came to bring me the billeither. I again went to the hostess station and asked for the bill. I expressed my disappointment in the lack of service. Shegot my waitress who brought the machine when I asked for it. I go to this place weekly and have for the last few months due tothe convenience of the location and the homemade food. I will NEVER return after this experience. I spent an entire hour notbeing served and not being treated as a valued customer at all. I do not recommend this place. They need to get organized withtheir staff. They were all over the place and didn?t appear to have any direction whatsoever. I understand working as a team butthis was not happening here either. I wanted to ask to speak with the manager but it didn?t appear there was one present. Goodhomemade food. Everything is made to order so it?s best to give yourself some time to have your meal. I find it best to go at1-1:30 to arrive after the crowd subsides. Read more
