We were staying in sandman hotel and came to have breakfast here in moxie. The menu for breakfast is limited but they gave us... omlette without meat which was very good. Loved the food and service but the order came out little late, that was the onlydrawback. Rest all good. Read more
We flew back to Vancouver last night. My family and I drove into Calgary after a long day sightseeing last Saturday. (End of... June 2022) Since we stayed at the Sandman Hotel, we thought we would drop in early for dinner before 6 when there are lesspeople around dinner time. We ordered 2 sirloin steaks and 2 cheese burgers (if my memories are correct). The order took morethan 45 minutes after ordering to come, partly because we were told that there was "no fries" in the restaurant. (and later on,fries did come out. Maybe someone went shopping.) During the 45 minutes, I realized the chefs and kitchen staff were very verybusy because they were preparing for Uber or take out foods, which in this era is an important source of income. However,probably because they were too busy, our 2 steaks were black, overcooked with surface charcoal of 2mm. They were so hard to chewthat we cut the surface off to eat, which defeats the entire purpose of paying money for Alberta beef. My wife was reallyemotionally upset because this shouldn't be this way, paying money for blackened food which is barely edible. (I can providephotos if needed.) My kids' burgers were also blackened and hard and did not taste good. I mean, the server girl did awonderful job of cheering us up by providing a "sorry" dessert. We went in here for Mother’s Day several months ago and meant to do a review. The place was freshly renovated so it looked... pretty nice. Service was decent as well as they were pretty staffed up for their Mother’s Day dinner. I’m giving them oneless star though because I saw a bunch of flowers sitting in a bucket in their kitchen/expo area. I saw a server take one to atable so I assumed it was for ladies celebrating their Mother’s Day. I had my fiancé with our child and future mom and in lawwith us that evening and so to not have gotten any of those flowers was kind of a bummer. Read more
I loved the classic breakfast at Moxies. Good sized portions. We had the best service by Maggie. She was professional and fast.... Also a delightful to chat with. It's a convenient location and an entrance to the Sandman hotel. Read more
