They bring your dahi kachori and chaat in plastic baskets … Reason they gave me was that their servers have... broken some and cant handle that plus they are not able to wash them properly!! This was not enough … when i saw they servedother couple in those bowls they use to have i went to ask him and he gives me the explanation for their order isdifferent! Really ridiculous ???? So fun! Such a great experience sampling Mumbai street food. The Samosa Chaat was amazing. We tried the Paan dessert and got the... recommendation to stick with the simplest one for our first one. I've been regularly dining at Royal Paan for over a decade, having tried almost everything on their menu and I was OVERJOYED... ????when they opened their Northwest Country Hills location which is nowhere near as busy as their Northeast Castleridgelocation.???? I like not having to wait for a table for Calgary's most popular Indian???????? food/restaurant. One thing I'mnot happy ????with is that a few years ago they started reducing the serving sizes and really increasing their prices, andstopped giving me a second bowl of sambar for free. ???? (The sambar bowls are smaller too) So now I cannot afford to go & eatthere as often as I used to! ???? While Royal Paan is not as good as it used to be, and the food is not as good, as cheap, noras abundant as the food in India???????? (In India the sambar is bottomless, much like Chinese???????? restaurants havebottomless tea, and European???????? restaurants have unlimited bread); ROYAL PAAN IS STILL ????????CALGARY'S BEST OPTION FOR????????INDIAN FOOD AND ALSO ????????CALGARY'S BEST OPTION FOR VEGETARIAN FOOD. The food at Royal Paan is still tastier thenother ????????Calgary ????????Indian restaurants and other vegetarian restaurants in ????????Calgary, and their food prices arebetter than average as far as vegetarian restaurants go in Calgary.???????? Service-wise this Country Hills location sometimesfeels like it is understaffed, especially when you are dining with a large group. Royal Paan as a restaurant chain, should alsosmarten up, fix & update their main website, and also create a separate vegan menu for vegans so vegans don't have to ask toomany questions and all confusion can be avoided on all sides. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent. My favorite was the Mysore Marsala Dosa and... the Bhel Puri. We very much enjoyed our dinner experience and will gladly return to try more! ???? Read more

This place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood and we love coming here. We always get the pani puri, and at our last visit we... tried the garlic butter dosa and veggie dosa (tomato, peas, etc). And it comes with several delicious dips. The best part of themeal is having all of this with a nice refreshing mango or guava juice/lassi ????. In terms of service, the food comes outrelatively quick and theyre pretty friendly. Can't wait to be back again! Read more
