In the corners of dark parking lots, ancient ruins entice the intrepid traveler to enjoy golden encrusted and salt-bejeweled... French Fries. Loops of time bridge noonday sun and the spectral minimalism of the Southwestern desert nightscape. Pepsi servedin Amish style containers refresh the traveler beneath skylights into the universe. Twisted walls of red brick wind into longhorned cattle replica statues, within a prison of reinforced steel. As the Western sun sets, the inevitability of the advancingnight drives the continuum of existence into a spiral of unity with the galactic plane. Read more

We were in Calgary for the weekend and went here for supper. The food was terrible, the drinks were bad and the service was... even worse. My daughter had a Pepsi and said it tasted bad. I had a coors light and it didn't look or taste like coors. My wifehad a paralyzer and also said it was bad. The food was not good and the portions are very small. Read more

How anyone got a 4* at this place is completely beyond me. We went and honestly the only reason they got a 2 is the fact the... live music was good. The service was atrociously bad. Server never even attempted to smile or have any sort of personality. Ithonestly was like we were putting her out being there. Food was ok. Simple pub greasy fair and certainly not matching any ofthe local places in Southern Calgary. That have all elevated their offerings and selection. Meh menu, brutal service,,, zipambiance (see notes below actually vaccuming and drug store lighting at 1001pm) ???? To top it off they close at 10pm on aSaturday? Its a pub with live music, and for Stampede as well and they closed promptly at 10pm. I mean blaring white lights on,all other chairs stacked on the tables, people vacuuming around the group. Hilariously poor attempt to make a place that clearlyhas struggled in the past to EVER be a choice again. Will never grace their doors again. Read more

The Hideout is a free standing restaurant owned by The Wyndham hotel across the parking lot. Loads of parking here with... accessible parking and entrances. There's a large dining footprint and an outside patio. Food is delicious and served quicklyand hot. Our waitstaff immediately showed up to take our drinks orders and provide menus. The washrooms are clean andaccessible, the entrance being just by the bar. There's a couple of raised areas as well for dining, and a nice long bar withlots of choices. You can sit at a table, a booth, the bar or higher tables as you prefer. There?s also a room at the end withits own entrance if you wanted to arrange a private function. The staff are all superb and very friendly as well. It beingStampede this week, everyone is in western garb and it?s just great to sit at your table with a pint and watch the Bull Ridinglive on TV. I cheer for the bulls as it?s one of the few sports where the bovine has as good a chance of winning as therider! As for product, there?s a nice selection of beers on tap and bottles as well as hard liquor. There?s sufficient singlemalts to make for an enjoyable bit of dramming. The only downside is the restaurant is closed Sunday, Monday and closes at 10pm. Tuesday through Saturday. A real plus is any guests staying at the Wyndham can order from the menu and have it delivered totheir room. Read more
