We visited twice at lunchtime. Both times we were very happy with the food. My wife had the guacamole salad (with chicken) the... first time, the Chicken and cheese quesadilla the second. Both were excellent. I had the Carne enchilada (chicken) followed bythe Spicy pork burrito. Both were fantastic, spicy, but not too spicy, with great flavor. The rice and beans were a step up frommost restaurants. The waitstaff were friendly and competent, the ambience nice without being overwhelming. And the prices weresolidly reasonable for the quantity of food. All in all, an excellent choice of restaurants when in Calumet. Read more
Beautiful restaurant, comfortable and cozy. Great Thimble Berry Margarita. Service was good. Food was a huge let down. I've... tried this place several times over the last several years and the Mexican/Southwest dishes are always very bland, lackseasoning. Carmelita's has the best staff and great food. The make a delicious house margarita that goes down way too easy! They also do... thimbleberry drinks, yum! Sammie, the owner, is super friendly and fun to chat with. I recommend any of the fajitas, tacos, orenchiladas! I prefer steak as my meat with those dishes. Enjoy! Read more
