We miss the original Boni. His son, Cesar, has a lot to learn about catering weddings. We went with local, small businesses only... for our wedding. Others were significantly more professional than this emotional kid was. Specifically Dante & Patricia atCarlocks in Los Osos, were BEYOND EXCELLENT. Modern Symphony (Steve) was our DJ & absolutely phenomenal. Cesar at Boni?s wasnot. Lots of excuses and blame on us. Mallarkey. Go with a different company. I sent this message to Cesar after my husbandspoke with him: ?I asked my husband to speak with you today since he is more tactful than I. However he let me know yourresponse and I?m absolutely dissatisfied with the service we received from your establishment and more disappointed you gave hima list of excuses with no apologies for the following; which will be in my review: Essentially, my issues are these: - Latearrival on day of event - You say everyone grabbed stuff, my family says you didn?t have control of situation - No dressing forsalad despite requests, alleged that it was dropped off. Nothing was labeled. What was salsa? Dressing? - Chicken enchiladas hadno sauce (just chicken inside tortilla? Very dry) - Chicken enchiladas were marked ?cheese? and cheese enchiladas were marked?chicken? which was upsetting to our guests who are vegetarians - Unclear communication (e.g. no record of our deposit, whetherwe drop off chaffing dishes, and whether they should be cleaned) - Kirkland brand chips? We could have purchased that forsignificantly less than you charged. $1,800 is not the level of service we got.? Here?s the message we got from Cesar inreturn: ?Hi guys, I?m very sorry that you guys weren?t satisfied with our service. I apologize for arriving about 15 minuteslate and for the lack of communication. I am 100% sure I included dressing for the salad. Some of the best Mexican food in the area. I?m from LA, so I can?t say they have the best tacos in Cali, but best in the central... coastal area. Everything we tried is really pretty good. Asada, Al pastor, Chile verde and especially the salsas. They have aspicy red that has a real kick and a savory green and I mix both. So far I have tried both locations. We have been eating at Boni's for years and the food and service have always been impeccable. Best Mexican food in SLO county,... hands down! This review, however, is for their catering service. We recently had Boni's cater our rehearsal dinner and welcomeparty the night before our wedding. Cesar was super easy to work with, helpful, and flexible with all of our menu and schedulingrequests. The food was phenomenal, and the price was great! Could not recommend Boni's enough for catering, or just a casuallunch if you're passing through the area. Read more
I have family in town and I?m always looking for good food and this is it. Last time I dropped by their little truck and tried... all their meats on tacos, the pastor and chile verde are the standouts. The salsa verde is very good. This time got the chileverde super burrito, it was huge and tasty! Their bean and cheese burrito is a sleeper though, so add one of those to yourorder.
