We had a very nice dinner at Newman?s on a special patio (their primary patio was closed). I especially enjoyed their rack of... lamb. It was medium rare and had perfect seasoning and didn?t overuse the rosemary, which many restaurants do. The use of finelychopped hazel nuts was great. We also had their Marshall Davis Cabernet - really great Cab. We will be back. Very nice. Read more

I enjoy occasions in fine dining when they present themselves, and this was definitely an amazing experience in fine dining. I... loved the ambience, the service, the wine selection, and of course, the food. Sporting a fusion of French and Italian cuisine,Newman's at 988 had a grand selection including a prix fixé menu. I went for the individual choices and had a four course meal(foie gras pasta, cream of chicken soup, prawn scampi, and a crème brûlée with half a bottle of a wonderful Moscato d'asti).I plan on enjoying at least one more meal with them before I leave the area next week! The lamb of rack with potatoes, mushroom, and vegetables was amazing. My fiancé loves sweet wines and the waitress was able to... accommodate. While I understand the area and who commonly attends this restaurant, as a young couple we felt a bituncomfortable. Many looks from people who acted as if we were outsiders and long periods of time without any help onsuggestions. If I?m a young couple looking for fine dining this place is acceptable, but be prepared to feel out of place andawkward . Read more

Absolutely the best meal of my whole life! The service was perfect. The food was perfect. The atmosphere was fancy and amazing.... We were slightly dressed up (still in jeans) and we did feel underdressed. Which is super understandable since this is anauthentic Italian fine dining restaurant. We had the Chef Prix dinner. I told my husband two bites into the main course (primerib) that I could die after dinner and have no regrets at all in life. There are a number of reviews complaining about theprice or portion sizes. We both took home left overs. The dishes are cooked with such skill and mastery. The ingredients arefabulous. Is it expensive? Maybe. But we were more than happy to pay for it, and plan to go back in the future. Make areservation just to be safe as there is very limited seating. Go with an empty stomach, and enjoy. Read more
