Service was lousy! We made reservations but the wait staff and hostess was clueless! Waitress tried to take us to a room beside... the band and I had to remind her that I made reservations in person the night before for the front overlooking the ocean! After we were seated the waitress forgot my drink order and admitted it was her fault that she did not order it!!! We werenot seated at our table by the hostess but we observed everyone else being seated and drinks given on time!!! Food was good butoverpriced! It was my birthday and I was so disappointed in the service, especially since I talked to the hostess the nightbefore about our reservations ! With so many places to eat at Cape May the Iron Pier will NOT be the place for us next time!! Read more
Great views. But the food was hit or miss. We assumed because they serve dishes as they are ready, that they cook to order. But... our roasted asparagus came out within minutes; not enough time to roast asparagus, and it was limp. The fries were... justfries. The sliders and shrimp tapas were very good. The Restaurant is now closed. Location, Location, Location. IF you can get a seat on the terrace you will get a great view of... the ocean. If not, you still get a seat in a resturaunt with nice vibe and friendly wait staff. Great for a small or largegroup looking to nosh, not dine. The bar offers a selection of fun cocktails and lots of good spirits. Tappas style dishes arewell prepared and tasty, but a bit on the pricey side (e.g. $12 for braised brussels sprouts for essentially a veggie sidedish). Everyone loved the Kobe beef sliders (worth the $17) and the prosciuto fig flatbread was also a hit. Grilled cheese shortrib sandwich had great buttery crunchy bread, but the short rib itself was just o.k. The Fire Roasted Grilled Hanger steakentree at $28 was very good and prepared a perfect medium as requested, however, you can get a better quality steak in town fora similar price. The sushi menu offers a selection of basic sushi options. (There aren't many sushi locations in Cape Mayproper, so if you need a sushi fix, Iron Pier will satisfy that craving). For those reviews complaining about the "timing" ofservice, I suspect they have never been to a tappas-style resturaunt, where service of this style is normal and was completelyas expected. Read more
