Rather pricy for a breakfast place, but everything was freshly made in house from scratch, and was delicious, so was worth it. I... make my own Hollandaise at home from scratch, and you could tell the same at this place. My husband had the corned beef hash,and you could tell the difference from their freshly made one to the gross in the can style most restaurants use. I woulddefinitely recommend this place, provided you have no issue paying $20+ a plate for breakfast. Read more
I have been going to this place since I was a small kid and I continue to return time and time again despite now residing in... Texas. The atmosphere is calm and quirky. I order the eggs Benedict and it's always a hit... I do wish the ham was a thinnerslice. We also tried the special which was ribeye steak & eggs which wasn't as great as we would've liked for the price.Speaking of pricing, it has definitely gotten more and more expensive with each visit. I think some items were definitelyoverpriced but again, I'll keep coming here purely for the kind people, the good food, and the nostalgia. I love to see aCarpinteria staple still standing strong. Breakfast was very good, our waitress was great! Pretty patio to enjoy some flowers with your meal.
The food was gross and overpriced for what we got. Onion rings tasted like water. The pancakes were rubbery like Bisquick. Paid... an extra $7 for a handful of blueberries thrown on top and cold syrup. Forgot the bacon. No butter, napkins, or utensils.
