My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We shared the Fried Green Tomatoes as a light and tasty appetizer. We both had... one of the Trout dishes (spectacular). Then split the Key Lime pie for a refreshing end to our meal. This is a GO TO place ifyou are in Cashiers NC. Read more
We made reservations knowing it was weather contingent. It poured and our table had a little umbrella over it and there was no... way to have a dinning experience. We assume when we made the reservation that weather contingent means perhaps you will beseating somewhere else in the facility. The fact of the matter is if it's pouring down rain you cannot eat there period. Themanager told us too bad and did not offer any kind of rain check or discount on another visit when the weather was better. Another words get out of my restaurant we have plenty of business and do not need yours. Had the manager offered some kind oflove we would have been perfectly ok with it. We will never go back. We have patronized this restaurant before and the foodwas excellent and we knew they had a porch area which we assume was the area they were talking about and that area was fine. Read more
Wish I could give all five stars, but just cannot. We were seated immediately at our reservation time. Waiter was great... initially, took our order and drinks and appetizers came out at a good pace. However, we then sat for over an hour for ourentrees. When the waiter did finally come over, he had no reason why we were delayed. Other tables literally came in after us,ordered, ate, paid their bill and left while we waited for our meals. No visit from the manager, never given a reason. Thatbeing said, the food was great when it did finally arrive. The restaurant is beautiful, so disappointing to have such badservice from a premium restaurant and not even be given a reason. PHENOMENAL! Only way to describe this meal. I was looking for something a little special for New Year?s Eve dinner for my wife... and I. Choices were limited in Cashiers, but I decided to make reservations at The Orchard?. Am I ever glad I did. The ambiancewas perfect (upscale but not at all pretentious), the services was great (engaging and knowledgeable without being overbearing),and the food was fantastic. We started off with the charcuterie board which turned out to be a great choice. The Cesar saladWITH anchovies was one of the best ever. My wife ordered the Silver Run Seafood and Pasta and I selected the Trout Chatuga. Bothwere better than we had anticipated. The orchard made our New Year?s Eve special and we will definitely be back! Service was great. On request, our server made recommendations that were spot on. Drinks were great and food was delicious and... hot. I got the pork tenderloin and it was so good - along with everything else on the plate. A few homemade onion rings were alight crispy and flavorful addition. My husband got the pecan crusted trout and it was equally delicious. They serve this with ahomemade tarter sauce on top that?s quite good but ask for it on the side if you want the full flavor of an amazing fish. Allaround a great meal! Read more
