The Glen Iris is stately and elegant. It transports you back to a different and more relaxed time period. The landscaping is... impeccable, yet you can walk in from a hike dressed in shorts and sneakers and still feel comfortable eating lunch or dinnerhere. I love being seated outside near the fountain in the summer. Of course the food and wine are amazing! And the gift shopwill really get you excited about spending money on beautiful jewelry and interesting and unusual items! Read more

What a setting!!!! We only did a day trip but felt like we were on a holiday! It was a magical location along the massive... middle falls. Views are spectacular and handicapped accessible. We had lunch then enjoyed the views and park drive. A truegem nestled in the NY countryside. Read more

Rough experience. We had reservations for lunch at 2:15, and I called at 1:30 to move to 2:30 as our party was driving from... Buffalo and Rochester to meet here. They said the power was out but would be back on by 230. We drive up, arrive at 230, sitand order. We are seated in a side room next to a door to outside. The staff kept going in/out the door, which I don?t blamethem, but as it was 95 degrees outside today, we were blasted with a heat wave every time the door opened. The staff did notseem conscious of this at all and kept leaving the door open rather than closing it behind them. We also noticed several fliesbuzzing around our table. We get drinks and soup, then the power goes out again. ?No problem,? I think. ?We can eat in thedark.? But then we are told to ?evacuate? outside and after 10 min, we are told that there will be no further lunch service. Iguess they couldn?t cook on gas stoves without electricity, for some reason beyond my understanding. Seemed a bit ironic giventhe pioneer history of this place. William Letchworth would be disappointed I think. They did at least comp the drinks and soupwhich was appreciated. Paloma cocktail was good. Turkey soup a la Rhine was excellent. However, our rare family lunch occasionthat we drove hours for was ruined and most of our party went hungry. Half of us gave up and went home. The other half settledfor burgers and shakes at the lower falls snack bar. Not exactly what we were expecting, nor was it worth the time and effort. Read more

I love the Glen Iris Inn. We've stayed at the inn before which was great. This time we just went for dinner but it made me... remember why the restaurant is so amazing. The French onion soup was great and the steak was simply awesome. It was so goodthat the A1 was not necessary. After dinner we enjoyed a cup of tea on the patio, it was a prefect night out. Specialthanks to our waitress Monika, they were short staffed so she was serving all of the tables on her own and dealing with somereally ridiculously difficult customers. Read more

Location is obviously fantastic, the room was comfortable. We didn't use the dining area, the house was a bit twee for us. The... picnic benches, fridge and microwave were handy for us. We self-catered and went elsewhere to eat Staff were friendly enough butwe enjoyed the semi-isolation of the lodge. Read more
