The Cheese Steak Shop has been my Pat's steaks fix since I discovered Pat's Steaks in 1977. That's before The Cheese Steak. I... spent 2 weeks in Philadelphia and discovered the Cheese Steak. My buddy told me I would be stupid not to try it wif. He wasright. I had 2 cheese steaks a day and went all over Philly in search of the best. For me, it is Pat's wif. I looked for aCalifornia version and I have not found it. The closest is The Cheese Steak Shop in Castro Valley. They are really good. Juststay with Pat's with everything. Do not put lipstick on it. The steak fries are good. Get the hot cheese with them. Do notforget the m as lt vinegar and remember they are supposed to be eaten with a lean over the sidewalk. Not Pat's but really close. Read more
