Racist restaurant. I went to their cafe in the 2010s and will always remember the one and only time I?ve been ignored by the... server despite being right in front of them. Had to watch as the people before and after me got their food while server skippedaround me. You should have just had a sign out front saying ?white only?. Hope service has improved since then. We heard a rumor that the Chateau would be shutting down for a couple of years for needed renovations and decided to visit... before it closed. We booked with other friends and made reservations for dinner. What a pleasant evening. The service was overthe top. Even made a fire in the fireplace for us. We entertained ourselves (and probably everyone else in the lobby) playingPictionary. It was great to be unchained from technology for the weekend. I was told the current leaseholder for the Chateauwill not run the hotel when it reopens in two years, it will be taken over by a corporation. I hope the new company will keep upthe exemplary customer service. On a slightly negative note...the mattresses were horrible, and the couple in the room next doornever turned their light out, so light leaked out into our room. My husband and I kept falling into the center of the mattress. The room was very cold and under the blankets I was very warm. I could not get the temperature just right. Slept horrible, butthe whole experience was amazing. Read more

The Oregon Caves were fairly accessible by car ride and then on foot. The park was absolutely stunning and the visitor center... was very interactive and enjoyable. The tour that I went on was phenomenal and although parts of the cave were small and hard towalk through the tour guide was very knowledgable and happy to share all that she knew. The hikes that I went on were stunningand provided an amazing view of the surrounding area. I would highly recommend this park to anyone who is interested in theoutdoors, history or geology in general. Read more

I've been wanting to visit for years. Staying at the Chateau was phenomenal! No wifi, cell, tv. What a wonderful break. The food... was a little pricey but very good. The caves were awesome. You need to take the tour (no self guided tours allowed). You can gettickets in advance or if you didn't get a reservation you can get them the day of). Nice hikes around the monument. The chateauis going to be closed for renovations after 9/30/18 for 2 years. Get there while you can! Read more

Like taking a step back in time, walking into this beautiful historic hotel is an absolute treat. We learned many people come to... visit the Chateau without ever taking the few extra steps to tour the caves next door. We can understand why, as everything isso beautiful and the people so friendly at this property. Be forewarned - this property is closing for 2 years at the end ofSeptember 2018. We can only hope and pray that the renovations don't take away any of the historic charm this property has tooffer. We can't wait to go back! Read more
