Overall the sides were better than the meat, which is always a disappointing assessment of a BBQ joint. The jalapeno cornbread... was sweet and dense, with a crunchy, fried layer--indulgent. Smoked beans were classic with great texture. Smoked collards werewell done with a ton of flavor and quite a kick, though too salty. Potato salad unremarkable. Like some other reviewers havementioned, the meat portions are laughably small for the price. Ribs were dry and had no flavor, brisket also bland. 8/7/22- I got to try their food at a catered event today so I can not speak as to price or value of the food. I can only talk... about the quality which was really good. The first thing that stood out to me was that they hadn't over cooked their coloredgreens which most places do. Their mac and cheese had a blend of seasoning on them that gave them a good depth of flavor. Thenthere was the meat. Then honey bourbon sausage was one of the best meat products I have ever tasted. I know that I will betrying this in their restaurant when I get the chance to verify that it's just as good there. Read more
Good BBQ is hard to find. The burnt ends mac and cheese was fantastic and a perfectly cooked brisket will have us coming back.
