Finally made it to Q Fanatic.. Service was great. Very friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a classic... BBQ joint. Order food at the counter and seat yourself. We got the 2 lb platter with back ribs, pulled pork, brisket, potatowedges, potato salad, and baked beans. Maybe given the hype of being on DDD many years ago, I expected the food to be better.Not bad.. just ok. Meats are tender but bland.. expected it to be more flavorful. The BBQ sauces were good. Favorite item wasthe potato wedges. I will go again since I live nearby and try the meats and sides we haven't had yet.I don't have high hopes..but maybe food will be better next time. Had high expectations from friends in the area raving about it from a few years back. Tried it tonight and here's what I... thought. You go through a makeshift subway sandwich style line to get what is supposed to be great BBQ with servers who didn'thave the time to help first time customers with ordering. Ok BBQ. So I?ve been meaning to try QFanatic for a while now and now that I have? Meh. It was decent but not great. The best... item on their menu are the seasoned potato wedges/fries. Meat wise, their pulled pork was the best item. Some of the ribs weretender and fall off the bone but others were not. The beef brisket was the same way. Parts were dry and other parts were moist &tender. The baked beans were Ok & I didn?t care for the Mac & cheese. Overall it was a nice lunch & if I lived close I wouldbe a regular visitor. P.S. We ordered the 2lb. meal, which was far more than 3 of us could eat. I love smokey BBQ. I've wanted to open a BBQ restaurant, so... I understand the challenges of running a first class place. I do not appreciate everything being pre-cooked. The pork spareribslacked seasoning and grilled/smoke flavor. The brisket was originally done properly but the meat was dry and chewy.
