I just drove from Durham to Chapel Hill to give this place a shot because the food looked good online. I reviewed everything,... went to the counter to order the French Toast of the month with the whipped cream on the side (not off the plate, just on theside because my boyfriend likes it and I detest whipped cream. In my eyes its vile) and was rudely told "Nope, no substitutions.Pick something else". Wow, is this what your nearly empty cafe wants to fight for. Your very qualified chef can't bare to putthe whipped cream on the side? Pick and choose your battles because my money is the only thing that should matter. You havefood, I have money, you make the food, I give you the money. I like the food and I repeatedly come back and give you more money.Do you see how this works. I suggest to anyone reading this that you drive (to Kippos where I ended up. Their lemon ricottapancakes have zero whipped cream) anywhere the chef is capable of putting a condiment on the side.
