There has been a drastic improvement from my past experiences here. It was not perfect but it was very good. I had the Salman... and it was cooked perfect but the rice was not warm, the mushrooms were amazing. Cesar salad needed more dressing but overallpretty good. Overall 4 stars and I'll be back. Wow! Amazing improvement in the kitchen. The new chef affectionatly known as Pork chop is totally awesome. I had the best... seasoned and perfectly prepared Tomahawk Ribeye in years. He is so expert that we asked for an audience and he is charming. Ourserver is also new to Griffin and shined. Ask for Caroline for attentive professional service. They both made the diningexperience a perfect dinner. We are looking forward to our next experience with this same team. Read more
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinners - steak and hamburger. The food was well prepared, tasty, and affordable. We... were pleased by the high quality of the meat for both entrees. Feedback from dinner experience in July '22. Two people were dining for dinner. We ordered an appetizer of fried green tomatoes.... Garnished with pimento cheese. Great! We ordered Greek Chicken Orzo special and Chophouse hamburger medium rare. The Greekchicken was completely over seasoned with garlic. This from a garlic lover. Orzo was 2X too much. Chicken strips were nicelydone. The hamburger was cooked medium, at best, though ordered medium rare. Probably closer to well done. Meat was good, butthe chef wasn't paying attention to the preparation. Lastly, our bill came with a "Special Fee" of $2.40. I asked the waitresswhat the charge was & she indicated that every card (debit or credit) is charged this fee. I doubt if this is true of a debitcard, but didn't argue the point. I know of no other restaurant that does this in Chapin & I have eaten at all of them. I wasn'tinformed of this charge beforehand and was not made aware there was an option to avoid it. I will say the waitress who was onlyon the job for a month was very courteous, prompt & attentive. My opinion hasn't changed. I wish this place could improve, butit's still very spotty. --------------------------------------- Review around Feb '22: I wanted to like this restaurant better.Nice venue. Good menu. They're off to a VERY slow start. Only one meal experience there, though I tried more! Was on a weekendwhen they'd been open only about a week. Restaurant was full. 4 diners at our table. 2 of 4 side dishes were stone cold and weresent back. The waitress was clearly new to this role. Another individual instructed the waitress, at the table, how to open &pour a bottle of wine. I understand new servers need to be trained, but at table-side at dinner? Really?
