Absolutely great food, service, overall experience. The menu is unique. It is a mixture of Native American dishes and some... more typical favorites. My party ordered from all over the menus from breakfast, fish, to venison. Everyone loved their food. I've had lots of venison before, but this was probably the most tender and mild I've had. The service was great too. Be readyfor the fact it is not cheap and the wait time to receive your food is on the long side. But I don't see that as bad. I?m perplexed by all the 5-star reviews. I can only think that they must be short-staffed. My husband and I started out at the... Hungry Haven but we were told there would be a 45 minute wait so we thought we would try Sky Fox Den based on the reviews. Thetwo young women we saw upon entering were absolutely miserable. Not a smile to be found on any worker. We sat down and had toask for coffee. We had to ask for utensils. We had to ask for menus. There were 14 people inside and a table of 5 outside. Thefood took one full hour to come out. A full hour for breakfast food. It was so bad that all of the patrons seated were talkingto each other about the long wait. I ordered French toast and had to ask for maple syrup. See picture attached. This Frenchtoast was NOT worth waiting one hour for. We will never go back again. Read more
We arrived at 10am on a Saturday, there were about 4 tables available to choose from outside. We went inside 1st to see if we... Needed to check in 1st... ( No sign of directions) The young girl behind the counter said you can sit down outside I will beright out to help you... She brought out our utensils & menu then asked if we wanted anything to drink... We ordered somethingTo drink while we went over the menu.. About 20 minutes later she came back to the table That is when we ordered our food....Our food finally arrived at 10:50 AM... Very delicious and big portions.. The surroundings of the tables outside needed alandscaper, many weeds and long grass coming up through some of the picnic tables. They have old coolers up against the shedwith greenish standing water. The picnic tables were filled with tree debris & bird poop that I had to wipe off myself. Ipersonally think that they were short of help there because it shouldn't of taken an hour to receive our food. The poor youngwaitress was running from table to table all by herself. She needs a raise for the work she did all on her own! Would I return?Maybe if they cleaned up outside and get more help for faster service. Was the food good? Came here for a late breakfast. The food is incredible. Absolutely incredible. I got the South Western omelette and my husband... got the Indigenous sandwich. The beans in the omelette were so well cooked and delicious, bursting with many different flavors.My husband loved his meal as well, the venison was well seasoned and the portion was huge! I ended up stealing a few bites offry bread, cannot recommend it enough. Everyone working here was super friendly, the atmosphere is so cozy and inviting, and themenu is really expansive. We went again last week. Second time visiting and it was again outstanding. I had the rabbit special which was a generous... portion of a full rabbit over fall vegetables. My wife had the short ribs which were melt in your mouth tender and were servedwith a dark and rich sauce. We finished with a blueberry slump and an Indian pudding.
