Came here for restaurant week for a second time as my first experience was just ok. Thought the 2nd one would be better and it... also was just ok. For some reason we always have to sit and wait for a server to acknowledge us or I have to ask where ourserver is. Apparently the bartender is also a server so service is a little spotty. We ordered from restaurant week menu and itjust wasn't that great for me. The garlic shrimp appetizers were very flavorful but the grilled chicken main course wasn't andthe strawberry shortcake dessert was dry. My friend had the NC trout which was tasty minus the skin being left on but not reallyan issue. The atmosphere is nice and the cocktail drinks good and strong. I did order the crab cakes off the regular menu whichsorta made up for the grilled chicken main course. Maybe I'll try the regular menu at a different time and see if 3rd time thecharm. Read more
I as searching last minute for nice place to go to on a Friday night in Charlotte and Bernardin's popped up. Parking was easy... and validated. The food was wonderful. My boyfriend had mussels for his appetizer and surf and turf for his meal. I had the duckspring roll and New Zealand lamb lion. Although I can't remember her name our waitress was wonderful. The place is locateduptown Charlotte nestled in a nice area where you can take some really nice pictures (as a wedding party was doing just that).We will definitely return to Bernardin's. Very friendly staff and excellent dining experience. I used to work uptown and Bernardin's was my favorite restaurant to eat at... during lunch. There isn't anything that I haven't tried on the menu that I wasn't disappointed with. If I could pick my favoritedishes it would definitely be the stir fry with salmon or the Cajun chicken sandwich and fries. This place is definitely missed! Read more
Food 5 Stars! Waitress… microwaved my coffee to heat it! I asked which wine would go best with EMU & she forgot before she got... back to our table. I tried EMU for the first time & loved it!! This dish was incredible!! My husband ordered Surf-n-Turf (medium& it came closer rare. He mentioned it twice & he only got “I’m sorry”. That’s it. I ordered coffee with desserts. Shebrought it nice & warm with creamer to add, but no spoon. I asked for it to be warmed up, expecting a little more “hot”coffee. She brought it back scalding hot! I assumed it was a new cup, added another Splenda & it was not a new cup. I thought ithad been microwaved & she was very proud of having microwave to heat. She asked me how I would have heated it. First time here and it did not disappoint! Everything was amazing and so flavorful! I got the wedge salad, the seafood dish that... had scallops, shrimp, mussels and white fish in a yummy tomato sauce, and the creme brûlée for dessert.
