Baby, this soul food is on point! The curry chicken paired with stuffing collards and mac&cheese with a cornbread muffin, is... savory and delicious. My friend had baked chicken, cabbage yams and cornbread. We topped off dinner with a shared slice ofstrawberry cake. So good I wanted more but my stomach said no more. The service was also very good. I came across this restaurant through social media and I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately I?m not a fan. The smell and... taste of the food reminds me of those cheap box dinners at KFC. The cheese in the macaroni tastes like it could be out of thosesilver bags in mini mac n cheese cups. On the upside, the food was delivered quick at a decent temperature, and the cornbreadwas okay. This was my first time visiting. I love to frequent black-owed establishment and give honest reviews. I got fried chicken with... mac & cheese, yams, and cornbread. The food was okay. I felt it was average not the best not the worst. I could go back again.We sat there about an hour and our table was dirty. I always travel with wipes, so I wiped my own table. The only concern that Ihad was that no one the entire hour I was there wiped any tables. I think management should work on that. I liked the ambienceof the place, but the small details matter. Incredible. There's not much more to it. We're just visiting Charlotte for a short while and weren't sure what to eat for dinner... when we stumbled across this place. My family is from New Orleans and we looooove us some soul food. This place was straightfire. We got the jerk chicken wings, bbq ribs, fried catfish, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, yams, black eyes peas,cornbread, and peach cobbler (a large combo with 2 meats and 2 sides + a small combo with 1 meat and 2 sides (both combos camewith cornbread)). Everything was absolutely divine. The flavor was incredible, the portion sizes were hearty, and the servicewas quick, professional, and friendly. We paid about $44 for everything and were not disappointed at all. We will definitely becoming back, this place is phenomenal. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. Read more
