OK, this isn't a 5-star restaurant, it's a solid 4-star place and I'm giving it 5 starts for that. Unexpectedly low prices for a... coastal island restaurant, enormous servings of delicious food, and a 'staff of personality' like something out of a sitcomthat'll make you want to tip extra just for having met them. They serve ice cream, and 'adult' sundaes with a shot of yourchoice of spirit or liqueur, or just a blob in your coffee. The locally famous May Hall is herself a vegetarian, so there'salways alternative dishes planned, yet she cooks meat like a carnivore. If you get there early enough, and they've managed tokeep whatever obnoxiously toothsome dessert from the ravenous clutches of the dishwasher, you can have an obnoxiously toothsomedessert May has created. Live music most every weekend, and occasional in-house entertainments like karaoke and Pub Trivia, orjust hanging with the colorful locals, it's a great place to visit. If you're touring the islands in Casco Bay, make sure toswing by when they're open. Read more
