Ate here for the first time In a long time recently and my thoughts are: I'll start with the good. The food was really good.... Really tasty with good portions and it came out in a timely manner. The employees I had interactions with were friendly but ithink they need to keep some things a bit hidden. Some complained about being overworked among other complaints I heard. Employees complaints and their discontent should be kept away from customers and not made so known outloud. The atmosphere justseemed a bit disorganized with the employees. Another improvement I would like to see is some renovations done to some of theseating. Our seats were all tore up and kept coming up like there was screws missing. The diner used to have great breakfast food. However, due to staffing shortages as mentioned by the staff, the diner is... currently closed. At that point I don't see any reason to patronize the hotel here either. Next time I will at least call ahead,but as of last night when I checked in the staff had been optimistic that there would be a cook this morning. So sad. Read more
Took my Grandson for a special lunch. Would give a zero if I could!!!! Got there, around 12:15 pm (lunch) on a Sunday. ALL... but one employee was at the front door smoking, didn't even acknowledge us until I asked if they where open since one of themwould not move away from the door. Door wide open (red flag), inside only two people seated, all tables needed wiped down (redflag), cook said "have a seat I will get to you when I get a chance". !?!?!?! Had to move several times due to the stickiness ofthe counters. (Red Flag) Then when I saw several flies I looked over to the prep food area by the grill and it was swarming withthem. Up and left immediately!!! Even my Grandson said it smelled gross in there. I see they have an add out forapplications. Get a new manager and clean that place from top to bottom! Not sure about the other reviews. What they see as burnt is what I see as well done and exactly how I ask for my food. If its... light I will send it back. Penny's diner cooked the food perfectly WELL DONE as I asked. Learn how to be specific on your foodchoices. The lady made my sandwich exactly the way the picture looks. It couldn't be more perfect. I almost ordered another. Shewas very nice and polite. I will be coming back. Read more
