Our experience. We were travelling to Chicago on a business trip. An evening of trying different cocktails was on the list and... Billy’s came up in local blogs. We took an Uber from downtown specifically for Billy’s and arrived at 8pm, with the nightahead of us. We were met at the door, packed night. The person working offered us the table beside the open door, we asked foranother and *tried* to defend our reason but they weren’t listening. The next table they offered was dirty, which we didn’tmind waiting for but they quickly went to the next table, by the washrooms and gestured “here you go” we quickly turnedaround and said we’d wait for the table that needed to be cleaned “no rush” well… they did not like that. Picked up theglasses, “go ahead” and immediately went to her coworker behind the bar to say something that was worth their reaction oflooking over at us to see who exactly they were speaking about and rolled their eyes. Honestly just shockingly rude consideringI’m aware table switching is annoying but we never sat down, I tried to have a conversation with this person about our seatingpreferences knowing we’d be there for 4+ hrs but they didn’t want to listen. Debating worth starting we decided to stay fora drink. We tried to access their menu but coming from Canada and no data we didn’t have internet access. We communicated thisto our now new server and they questioned where we could be travelling from to not have internet. They said they didn’t haveroom on their server to have us connect to the internet. They didn’t have paper menus. They decided to allow us to look attheir iPad, which of course feels very rushed - anyone can agree with this. We ordered 2 drinks, asked for the bill, I spoke tothe server about our experience - maybe they would handle this? “Thanks for your feedback, have a good night” I’m notsure if the owner of this establishment was in the building when this happened, I really hope not. But if you weren’t and thisis ho Read more

This is one of my favorite cocktail bars in all of Chicago. From bespoke cocktails to antique amaro, ingenious seasonal... preconceived cocktails to classic standbys made with quality at the forefront. Every bartender is knowledgable, contemporary, and innovative. Every drink is lovingly created or thoughtfully crafted on the spot. The selection of ingredients ranges fromobscure mixologist fascinations to top caliber neat sippers. If you're in Logan for a drink, do not miss this. Nothing nearbyholds a candle. It's a cross between a pre-prohibition 1920s NYC speakeasy like Milk and Honey and an ultra contemporary newstyle cocktail lounge like the Aviary. But it lacks all the pretension and price point of these landmarks. It's just a greatplace for a cocktail and conversation. Read more

One of my new favourite cocktail bars. They have an ever changing menu that has had fun new things to try every time I have... visited alongside some excellent takes on classics (you have to try their negroni) and a truly fantastic atmosphere. Read more

The drinks were spectacular! I got the Permanently Closed which had so many layers and layers of flavor. A triumph. Seating is... limited. Make a res and ask to be seated away from the door if it’s a cold snowy night in Chicago, like it was when we werethere. Then head out the door and go to Lula to eat. You won’t be sorry. Read more

Jacob the bartender is amazing. He’s so talented and also very nice. If I had the money, I’d hire him to be my full time... private bartender. He made me a mescal Negroni and, just like the Drake song, it was the best I ever had. I drank it in 30seconds and cried out in ecstasy. Ooooooweeeee. Somebody give this guy a raise. The only way he could be any better is if heserved me my cocktail with a kiss. Just kidding. I’m in a long term committed relationship and my partner would not approve. Not only can Jacob make a mean cocktail, he’s also incredibly knowledgeable about different spirits and enjoys sharing hisexpertise with his patrons in an accessible and unpretentious way. He is literally the best. I’m going to scream. Literally Iam going to scream. I am going to climb on top of the bar and announce to the entire bar my love for Jacob the bartender. Read more
