Overpriced but good. Dinner for 2 with a drink was $140, and we left hungry, but everything we were served was delicious.... Cocktails were good but again overpriced and not amazing. Won't be back, but wouldn't tell people to stay away. Read more
The food at Income Tax was extraordinary. We had an eggplant dip that blew us all away (unique and surprisingly delicious). We... had the cheese plate and octopus and steak and they were all exceptional. The two draw backs: (i) we ate again later due tosmall portion sizes and (ii) drinks were oddly slow to find their way to the table. Cocktails were good, and the service was top notch, but the menu items were overly ambitious and perhaps not well enough thought... through. I'd recommend visiting for cocktails/wine and perhaps a small plate, but would go elsewhere for dinner. The saffronspaghetti with mussels started out really well, but I couldn't tell if the grit in each bite was the crunchy topping or sandfrom the mussels (or both). The skate wing seemed like an adventurous dish to try, and as a big fan of scallops, I expected tobe in love with this one. The texture was a little strange, but I see why it's compared to that of a scallop. The sauce andleeks on top were tasty, but combined with the fishiness of the meat, the dish was a bit watery and bland. I was looking forwardto those crispy, buttery edges on nicely cooked scallops, but this dish seemed like it was steamed, not grilled. We also orderedthe squash. It was probably the best thing we ordered, but certainly not a showstopper. We'll definitely be back for drinks, butwould skip the food menu next time. Read more
