Great experience and fantastic service and food. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, arriving early for happy hour... drinks and apps. The drinks were good, but the food really stood out. Would highly recommend the happy hour bao and spicy tunacrunch. For dinner, I had the omakase tasting menu (7-courses + dessert) and my wife had à la carte. Both were excellent, butnotable dishes included the sweet potato lobster soup (such complex and well developed flavor), Chawanmushi (the best eggcustard I've ever had) Foie Gras with lobster+mochi ice (such great balance and deliciousness), Waygu was a fun experience oftableside searing stones, Lobster Croquette, and green tea creme brulee. They also sent us a really special desert with spunsugar on top that was fantastic but I don't remember what it was called. Would highly recommend this restaurant for anyonelooking for a high-end food experience. I think they deserve a Michelin star. Will be back with friends and family another time!Thank you Jordan our server who was fantastic and the rest of the wait staff who all made us feel very well cared for and servedto perfection all night! If this restaurant had a spirit animal, it would be a Komodo Dragon. You hear about these things and they?re so unique and rare... it?s dangerous. That?s exactly how I felt when trying tonight?s plates. Check out everything I got. The toro sashimi, which Ithought I wouldn?t prefer, was my favorite item on the menu. The oysters simply took my breath away. We also tried the Japaneseflatbread and I couldn?t believe that this even exists. The Wagyu wraps speak for itself; high quality & fresh with flavor. Nowto top it all off, our waitress, Amanda, recommended the green tea crème brûlée. It was light, resembled matcha, (myfavorite), and had torched raspberries that fit perfect with every bite. For cocktails, we enjoyed the Komo Passion with lemoninstead of passion fruit. That egg white topping hit just right. Thank you, Amanda, for your incredible service. This was aperfect dinner to have while visiting Chicago. ???? Read more

Komo was amazing!!! Came here for my friends birthday (just us two) and we were greeted by the hostesses with a sip of sake,... then escorted through a Shoji sliding door to our table. The interior is gorgeously done and the place settings so organized.Every service person is distinctly dressed and we felt so well taken care of. The food is delightful, inspired, and perfectlyportioned. We had two cocktails each, plenty of food, and our bill was very reasonable for a nicer restaurant in West Town. Defcome check it out!!! 3.5 stars if I could. Overpriced for what it is. The chef came out to our table to explain his sashimi course ($150/person) and... clearly seemed like he didn?t want to be there. The pisco cocktail was delicious and the sushi itself tasted great. The staffwas all very friendly as well. Something just seemed ?lack? overall. Read more
