I wasnt really wowed like I expected to be based on previous reviews. Service was average. Maybe because i dined alone there... was no reason to work for a tip. Food was ok. I didn't care for their signature garlic fondue bread. Got cold too quick andbecame too rich tasting...you know how cold cheese can taste stronger than cheese that's been melted at least in my opinion. My steak was oddly medium well as requested on one half but once I reached the other half it was really bloody. That wasoff-putting. I cut into it once it arrived but obviously the portion i cut was the good side. Called the waiter over and heagreed what I showed him was medium and not medium well. He offered no discount just said he'd make the chef aware. I didn'trequest replacement because by then I was getting full and didn't see a reason to take a whole steak to my hotel and have it sitin the fridge when I knew with me being on vacation I would be trying other area restaurants and wouldn't ever eat it beforeleaving town Read more
We were visiting Chicago during Independence Day weekend and realized we had to go to Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse because... it’s… well you know… Michael Jordan! The restaurant was fully booked up, but the American Express Concierge was able toget us a seat. (Big thanks to Amex and to Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse for being able to accommodate us!!!) We are happy wewent. The service at the restaurant was fantastic! Over the top and better than expected. There were a couple hick-ups, but theyhandled them perfectly! And the Premium, well-made Michael Jordan branded steak knives were an excellent touch. The food waswell presented, looked great and tasted delicious! The cowgirl steak special had excellent flavor and the 16 oz Prime Delmonicosteak was tender and extremely flavorful. For sides, both the creamed spinach and the grilled sweet corn were fantastic, and thesweet corn had a slight spice kick that enhanced the taste, we were pleased. We didn’t actually get to see Michael Jordan atthe restaurant, so we assume he was in the kitchen cooking our steaks (*smile*). Not only was he great on the court, but alsohas a great restaurant. Delicious! We had a wonderful experience. I asked for a candle in the dessert for a Birthday when I made online reservations and... everyone handled it beautifully! The garlic bread was really really yummy, they pour a delicious blue cheese fondue sauce overthe it at the table (you could probably have it on the side). We had the steak flight and all agreed that we liked the dry agedprime the best although all three were very good. The 23 layer cake is a must have and there is plenty to share. Read more
Nice ambience and great location. I loved the luminous bridge that led to the dining room. I also enjoyed the slight touches of... Michael Jordan memorabilia around the restaurant so as not to take away from the restaurant’s elegance by making it look morelike a sports bar. The food was SO GOOD. Especially the Bleu cheese bread. I’ve never been a fan of bleu cheese but this wasabsolutely delicious! The only reason I did not give the restaurant 5 stars is because I did not enjoy the dessert at all.Cheesecake is my favorite dessert and unfortunately, I didn’t like this one. The graham cracker crust was served like acrumble on the side and the cake itself was too warm and airy for my liking. Nevertheless, the service was excellent and Ithoroughly enjoyed my visit. Personally I’m not a fan of mushrooms at all! But I must confess I really enjoy eating this one, my friend ordered it as her... side dish while I ordered the Mac and cheese, I ended up eating most of the mushrooms. The Mac and cheese was creamy and tastytoo. Our steak was really well marinated and juicy, we really enjoyed it. We bought a bottle of wine, we requested for sweet redwine but that wasn’t the sweetest red wine but it was ok. I was also given complimentary cake for my birthday.
