I've been coming to Moody's Pub since I was a kid. It is still really dark. The Burgers are amazing. I've never ordered... anything else. The tables are kind of packed together a little close for my taste. Had to "climb" into my seat. Read more
This place is a classic! In warm weather you can dine outside in a courtyard filled with mature trees. In a time when the same... Chicago location can see three businesses come and go in one year, this hasn't changed for decades. While that might not appealto some who enjoy following trends, it appeals to those who find comfort in the familiar. The interior is quite dark andunremarkable but in or out, you will always get friendly service and delicious burgers. Try it if you haven't yet! Read more
We are back at Moody’s after being away for about 7 years. It refreshing to see that not much has changed… in a very good... way. It’s a perfect ‘hole in the wall’ neighborhood pub. The food and the beer are great! Isaac was a perfect server. Hewas attentive without being overbearing and gave us the room to hang out and relax. He even set an alarm on his phone to comeback and check on us when we said we were going to enjoy our pitcher of beer before ordering. Their burgers are wonderful. They even have chicken, turkey, and veggie burgers. It is a limited menu, but it is all well made.... Beer selection is pretty good and cocktails are okay. But you wouldn't expect a burger bar to have the best margarita. Greatatmosphere to spend time with friends and drink a few rounds, but sometimes the interior can be very hot in summer so if you'resensitive to that, keep it in mind. Read more

ACTUALLY THIS IS A ZERO STAR REVIEW... We had been infrequently coming here for a very long time (having moved 2 hrs. away over... 40 years ago) but this was our FINAL visit. During those 4 decades they have not put one penny into updating this joint. Thisplace is not ADA accessible (stairs from outdoor garden and front entry, and tiny bathrooms). The dark, grungy atmosphere hintsof scary things if bright lights were ever available and quite possibly the Health Dept. would intervene. Original,inadequately-sized bathrooms were not even clean or fresh-smelling (early in the day). Booth upholstery is ripped and patchedand looked like they came from a dumpster---they certainly belong in one! The menu claims they serve the Best Burgers inChicago since 1959...but that may only have applied up to 35 years ago. Burgers today are unmemorable and fries were hard, thinscraps and not very appetizing. The server was too busy on her cellphone to check in if anything was needed during ourdining. The outdoor garden may offer a much better atmosphere…but there’s no getting around mediocre food. You can goanywhere else and have a better meal and dining experience. Resting on your laurels for decades just isn’t gonna cut itanymore. Time to turn out the lights and lock the door….actually, no need to lock the doors—nothing inside is worthsalvaging! Read more
