NoMi is my favorite spot I've been to while at Chicago. From the start of the experience to the end everything was perfect.... Merica, the hostess, was wonderful she was kind and despite not being able to give me the perfect seat noticed as soon as awindow seat was available grabbed me and changed my table to a better location. Honestly just knowing she kept track and caredenough to ensure ohr table was perfect took it to another level. Joe our server was great. He was not only doing a fantasticjob making sure everything was taken care of, but was giving fantastic suggestions of places to go in Chicago. He tried to getus a reservation at Bavette's Bar & Boeuf; but, sadly we had already committed to Swift and Sons. Jorge, the sommelier, wasgreat and not overly pushy. He was very nice and offered good advice while also making sure he listened to our feedback. Weended up ordering the Chappellet Cabernet Franc (2018) and it was a fantastic wine. Giving final memorable mention Armando, thebus boy, also deserves a note for being sociable and always making sure nothing was left blocking the table. He also made surewe were never low on water. I am sure the menu here changes often, as it just seems like the type of place; but, if you happento see any of these on the menu they were all amazing. For appetizers I enjoyed was The Octopus Carpaccio, the Muscles, and theRillette. Then after eating myself to oblivion I had the seared scallops. My wife and I chose this place for lunch on a beautiful summer day, and made reservations to sit on the rooftop. We chose it... because of the reviews we found here. We had an excellent dining experience, although at times we did feel a bit rushed by thestaff. We ordered: * Blue Crab Corn Fritter (excellent despite that it was a bit early for blue crab season) *Grilled MerguezSandwich (LOVE this sandwich. I make my own merguez at home, so I was immediately drawn to it. This was an excellent sandwichand the harissa was not overpowering -- I highly recommend) * NoMI Futomaki (it was "okay." This is one of my favorite guilty pleasures in Chicago. Their breakfast is as good as it can get and no buffet. Cocktails in the... evening are also great, as is their limited but high quality sushi menu.
