The prime rib is not any better than at any other steak house, which was surprising because this place has designed their entire... menu/concept around it. The cocktails were fine; the oysters were good; but honestly, only the caesar salad and mashed potatoeswere really good. Not worth $700 for four people IMO. Read more

We had been searching for a replacement for Lawry's, which closed during the pandemic. St Clair Supper Club was a promising... option as Alinea Group is known for high standards and quality plus the setting ensured a similar ambience. While the Prime Ribquality did not at all disappoint and was, as expected, some of the best prime rib we've had, the rest of the food fell a bitflat. The two biggest disappointments were the Yorkshire Pudding, which was much crispier and not as absorbent of meat juiceflavors as either Lawry's or ones we've had across the Atlantic. This disappointment was followed closely by the horseradishcreme fraiche which lacked any horseradish kick (which for us is half the experience of enjoying a good prime rib). The sides ofpotato au gratin and brussel sprouts were fine but nothing remarkable or even particularly interesting. Service was great anddrinks were solid (enjoyed the fun of the pickle back). Probably won't be back as it fell short of satisfying the prime ribdinner itch. Read more

One of our favorite restaurants in the city. Great bang for your buck being one of the grant achatz restaurants. While the menu... may appear to be meat-focused, the seafood dishes are a standout as well. Read more

Great experience overall - ambiance was great, really great service. Cheese curds, oysters, shrimp cocktail, prime rib and sides... were all top notch. Ambiance and service were the real stars here tho. Will be back/will recommend. Read more

This is a great hidden gem below Roister (all owned by the Alinea Group) and really captures the feel of driving through... Wisconsin and pulling over to a bar-style supper club. The kitchen table seating is AWESOME and highly recommended for solovisitors or couples (more than that and you can't all talk to one another since you sit side-by-side). Be sure to avoid sittingin front of the stove area where it can get very hot. The food here was so home-cooking-delicious, that we'll easily come backwhen we save up more cash, haha... Our bill was over $400, so a place like Wildfire could serve up similar food for less, butthen again, it wouldn't be the same incredible version for a few items (see my pics for winners and losers). The prime rib hadan incredible sauce glazing the service plate while my roasted 4-star mushrooms (side) and mushroom soup (appetizer) were sogood, I was thinking about them on the ride back home, LOL... Watch out for the brussel sprouts; ours were nearly raw and toomuch vinegar was used, so raw *and* sour. You can always take em' home and finish cooking them, so no loss, but for a $400 bill, they *could* at least cook them. Oh! They can serve drinks from Roister here, but surprisingly, the drinks arekind-of-sort-of... average? We've had many better Wisconsin-style "Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet" cocktails elsewhere. Otherwise, this place is our little secret, m'kay? Don't tell others! ;-D Read more
