I visited Steak & Shake on Halsted today and was sadly disappointed. Seems like the service is getting worse and worse and... cleanliness is a problem... The guy at the register was literally playing with his hair... hands all up in his head, twistingand pulling at his hair as I placed my order. Gross!!! Of course, I should have walked out, but I had my son with me who wantedto get a burger. Yuck... Never again will I compromise cleanliness like I did today. They're good when they have all the items needed for good burgers and good shakes. They often run out of ingredients for their... most popular shakes. They also tend to run out of things like tomatoes and lettuce fairly often. They address that and willreceive a better rating. Read more
Aside from our orders taking forever both times we?ve come here, there?s a lot of unprofessionalism, understaffing, and sanitary... issues. For example, the worker didn?t take off his gloves to count cash money, put on new gloves, or wash his hands beforemoving forward to deal with food. Also they completely disregard the order board and chronology and served several people wholemeals and shakes before they handed me my two shakes. One of the workers didn?t step in to deal with the line and once at hispost, stood there sipping his drink and then refilled his drink as we all waited for him to do something for people in line. I love Steak ?n Shake, growing up in the south and doing road trips through Indiana to get to chicago. I went here a few months... ago for the first time expecting the same flavors and level of quality for a good price and was sadly disappointed. The servicewasn?t great and even more so was the burger I ordered. It lacked any flavor I was so shocked! I don?t think I?ll be visitingthis location again. I really hope their food and service gets better so I?ll want to come back! Read more
